So I've run out of space in my cabinet. Something is getting demoted to the cupboard.

The Horde is slowly growing. I'm picking up a Wyrdboy and a Shokk Attack Gun on Thursday, and am already plotting to buy pretty much everything in the second wave.

....

I'ma need a bigger cabinet.

Truer words have never been spoken. The Waaagh is looking great!

I'm looking forward to second wave also. I can't wait to get chopping with all the new pretties, but I'm also excited to see what others are going to do with the new kits too.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Darn tootin'.

At the very least, I want to flesh out my Stormboyz to 20, and get a power klaw in there. I also want Grots, just because they're awesome.

The skull? It was a while ago, but I usually do bone in stages, starting with Scorched Brown, blending up through Bleached Bone and ending in Skull White. There may be some Dark Flesh in there, too, but I'm not sure.

As I say, 'twas a while ago.

In response to your original comment: you probably dont get alot of pointers because your stuff looks pretty ace.

Things that I can see:

-you may want to include more color in the army. I see green flesh and metal but not much else. Maybe add some more red? Adding a third color will really complement your army.

-It might be a preference thing but you could rethink the base color. The bright green goes along with the ork theme but it takes away from the model a little.

Remember these are just humble suggestions. Your army looks great overall. I have a 3000+ IG army and know what a pain in the a** painting all those models is. Keep up the great work!

The limited palette of colours is entirely intentional. I am deliberately trying to prevent the army looking like an 'explosion in a paint factory', as the 3rd ed Codex put it. To my mind, vibrant green skin with occasional colour patches is colour enough!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the green base edges are force of habit. That's how I started painting bases nine years ago - there are certain things you just get used to, and now a model doesn't look finished to me until I've edged the base. I'm working on it. >_<

Another couple of bits. Bought the Big Mek and Weirdboy basically because I think the models are awesome, and as such haven't made any real alterations. I don't know how often I'll use them in-game, but I have all my bases covered now!

Also, the Trukk - last part of the battleforce I bought ages ago. Not entirely happy with it, needs a little more colour - though it may look better on the table.

New shiny things!

I've been being reasonably productive of late. Having bought the Black Reach box, I turned my various pointy tools upon the plastics therein and came up with the bits and pieces you see below. For starters, my (as yet unpainted) shoota boyz: as much as I admire the sluggas in the box, I am loathe to have the same few poses repeated throughout a mob - so primarily using my GW razor saw, I performed a few amputations and put these guys together instead.

Next, my Deffkoptas. Not really much conversion work as I'm rather fond of the basic model.

The painboy is actually based on the free Nob that came with White Dwarf a while ago. It's a bit of a bodge job, as I'm not so hot with the sculpting, but he'll do.

Finally, the most eccentric unit in my army thus far: my Flash Gitz. I doubt I'll use these much in games as they're rather over-costed for what they can do, but I had five plastic Nobz and a box full of bits... and may have got a little carried away.
