They dont use the warp they control it, they turn it into a mill pond in stead of a sea and this causes massive turmoil for warp users as it cokcs up all of thier warp travelling abilities.

either way its warp usage really, and with the Ctan really not liking it one bit, it just feels wrong that the nids would be under thier influence. Besides, the outsiders inside a giant sphere when would he have had time to make the Nids, let alone set them on the universe. Fluff seems to indicate he can't get out to well

Then what are the nids doing? They cant just be eating the galaxy for fun? Some eariler hive fleets could talk and so can some nids.

Your point? All that shows is they do have a higher intelegance, besides, Orks fight for fun, why shouldn't nids eat for fun?

America... Feth Yeah!

I don't think the C'tan hate life. I think they're alot like the nids in that they enjoy feeding on life. They were just blobs of energy until the Necrontyr called them into Living Metal bodies, correct? Then they found that they enjoyed eating souls and other living beings more than stars. So, they don't hate life, they love life. They love taking it away and eating it with a little parsnip on top.

But the necrons and C'tan are made from metal, while nids can't eat phase metal, also nids have no souls to eat.

Nope, Orks do. Why do you think the invasion on Armageddon was so successful?

Because the Orks could THINK FOR THEMSELVES.

If the Outsider is in control of the 'nids, that would explain why the Hive fleets avoid dead worlds; because the Necrons are there, but apparently the Outsider prefers soulless living things rather than artificial soulless things. As the C'Tan feed on souls, the 'nids aren't potential food.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Or, because being dead worlds theres nothing to eat there, hence the name. Besides, officially the outsider is still in stasis in a dyson sphere, which is anti warp stuff. So the nids wouldn't be able to go near it, or the outsider himself due to psychicness, those big floating head things...

Tyranids go after food, more food equals a bigger hive fleet, but how do they find worlds using genesteals, they call out into space as well. Tyranids love hunting orks, all that fungus and mushroom makes a hive fleet strong.

America... Feth Yeah!

Nids love their shrooms. Perhaps the Outsider, assuming he IS controlling the 'nids, is using the Tyranids to attempt to free himself, somehow. They seemly feed and evolve and spawn more so they can cover more of the galaxy faster. The C'tan are made of metal, I guess. If you want to get technical they were just energy feeding off the stars until the Necrontyr found them and began worshipping them, then brought the Nightbringer, then the rest of them, into a Living Metal body. Are they still Living Metal? I thought their bodies were destroyed in the war against the Old Ones and they found different bodies. Of course this has nothing to do with nids.

Staying away from dead worlds because there is nothing there, um, how do they know nothing is there unless the Outsider, who most likely still has connections to his Necron followers, told them there's nothing there. Couldn't they also take dead planets to host their evolution pools?

Now seeing as Tyranids do all there evolving on board the hive ships. They absorb the Nids then remake them as new ones. Although Tyranids do have a use for dead world, they fight each other on them, winner takes the other's hive bio mass and DNA. But how do they know how to fight or what works best. I dont think the Outsider could, he's mad after he ate another C'tan.

The same way animals know how to fight and what works best. Survival and feral instinct. Their whole 'existance' molds them into vicious killers, I'm surprised they don't turn and kill the gaunt next to 'em. Proabably, like animals, scent glands mark the army or 'clan' of tyranids so they don't just try and eat themselves.

therefore, by your reconing the nids can't work for the outsider because they'd attack him, not smelling the same or beeing a Nid. And whats the point of having servants who would try and kill you?

besides, the outsider has the Necrons in his Tomb world style ship to do his bidding. Its big enough to hold thousands, if not millions of the things. Why would he need the nids, who appeared much later in the timeline-so the Necrons/Ctan would never have encountered them or had time to make them? (being asleep and all)

A valid point I must say. And... that's all I can really say without most likely making another fluff boo boo. Maybe the Outsider wanted a midnight snack, or was tired of waiting, and started creating tyranids out of warp or some other sort of energy and bio mass.

Heh heh... awesome.

I think Nids are cockroaches who got lost thousands of years before, got mutated by the warp and are now space bugs.

If they were, then the Imperium would fight them with Mortein.

It wasn't exactly a fluff boo hoo. You made a very good argument that makes a lot of sense when you initially look at it, but a little probing just pulled it apart slightly. As for using Morty to fight the nids, if only he weren't a traitor eh?

Morty may be smelly but he's no 40000 year old cockroach hive.

All the Imperium needs to do to beat the Nids is make them absorb bug bomb and watch them choke on poison and die. Why do the stupid Imperial Monkies have to over complicate thing? Honestly, Why?

Because bug bombs are mostly likely banned by order of the inquistion. Like everything else in the Galaxy.

Nah they go around Battle barges, in Deus Sanguinius Rafen hides in the bottem of the ship with all the Rat Catchers huting around him. Someone has to kill rats though.

Thats what the nids are for though. Killing all the Vermin in the Galaxy, Humans, tau, Eldar,rats..its all the same to them. They just don't touch necrons because they aren't vermin of the galaxy!

Yeah they leave necrons alone maybe you could have guants hunting rats onboard a ship, maybe you can teach them tricks like sit, roll over, kill my next door neighbour because he slept with my wife... So on so forth.

Like a circus, except without the Clowns! Unless the Nids evolve to be funny... Actually what would happen if they ate a planet of comedians, would they inherit the 'funny' gene? Or become really bad fighters, comedians not doing so much and all?
