Why else would a Red Shirt give you information regarding some new race? Especially a race of space skaven that don't exist...

Or maybe the OP asks ten questions a minute like a certain bunch of kids do at my local GW x.x (sorrie OP, if you're a 'normal' person )

If you look at the 40k universe map in the new rule book there is mention of other races on it, so you never know GW could be putting options in place

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

I suppose its possible, but given the amount of resources needed to launch a new race (concept art, sculpting, fluff, tooling new moulds for plastic etc) I can't see it happening.

We know there's new SM stuff coming out, SW stuff to come, a new IG codex, a whole relaunch of DE. At some point they'll have to decide to either revamp or 'squat' Inquisition forces as they're heinously out of date (so too Necrons). Then there's the Adeptus Mechanicus and Chaos Legion rumours that will probably never see the light of day...

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

That's an old (3rd edition) Jessail model with a (RT era) plastic Imperial Guard Lasgun. Nice conversion, not a new model.

Your ability to spot these things is amazing. Oh well, its slightly comforting to know that GW hasnt removed too many races overall.

The tau came out in 04 I think, and they were from scratch. Never say never, just say not often

Tau came out in 2001; I remember seeing the preview minis at Baltimore Games Day that year.

Didn't they even say, no new races in the new future?

And ffs, first rule to remember, whatever they tell you in their local GW, they don't know anything.
Most of the fan base is better informed than the average GW troll. Most of them won't know about the news, the detailed information of the new starter set etc.

On one thread on Dakka within the last, say, 2 weeks, I saw a list of upcoming codexes -some of which I knew to be valid- that mentioned Adeptus Mechanicus.
Was that ever confirmed as BS?

Right! 'cause GW staff don't use the forums.. Don't kid yourself, GW love to troll these forums to do things just to get a rise from Dakka.. don't believe me, just check any of the forums and see if there isn't a hot debate going on..

Bosstiz, the most accurate statement you can take away from this whole thread is that it is indeed very unwise to listen to GW retail staff about anything in the future for which they cannot show you a promo picture or preview copy. They are notorious for doing stuff like this; I'm talking years of bogus rumors.

I agree with one of the posters that it would be foolish to introduce a new race into the mix.

I could see Hrud and/or Squats as an additional choices for Tau if they were to be included in some way, but not as entire armies of there own.

Oh, now *that* would be a real kick in the teeth to the last remaining Squat player.

I wonder when GW will reintroduce Squats as a slave race...
