A 50% reduction in removing casualties from fireknives lead me to believe quantity is more important than quality in suit configs, especially with people running and outflanking Tau more often.

I havent played my Tau since 5th edition was leaked/revealed. I didnt honestly notice much change as far as suit oufitting went. The same guns are still needed, however the increased prevelance of cover saves can be offset with markerlights.

Also XV-8 battlesuits will get their 4+ cover save too, with a meat shield of Fire Warriors, which they can fire over. This means you add gun drones where you would have had shield drones, your gun drones will now get saves and stop a lot more of the fire, for less. This favours the longer range weaponry.

I do see Pathfinders being much more important in 5th.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Here's something I thought of just today...

XV8 Shas'ui:
- Airbursting Fragmentation Projector, Flamer, Multi-tracker

A 54 pt model that auto-hits its target and can completely decimate a gaunt squad/boyz mob.

For kicks, shove on a failsafe detonator and charge it into combat

(Alpha Legion - 2,000 Points Painted)
- Favourite Opponent - Local RTT Dec. 2018

(Vior'la Sept - 1,000 Points Painted)
- Medusa V Veterans, Konor Veterans

(Steel Legion - 1,000 Points Painted)
