Back on topic. Two thumbs up to HBMC's comments.
Barring the odd blister I'm not buying anything from GWOZ for a long, long time as their prices are crazy beyond belief compared to he rest of the world.

Why were you even there in the first place?
There's nothing that cannot be done cheaper and better on a different website. I mean, compare the price of the Chaos Annihilation Force (1 Lord + 15 Terminators) on the GWOZ site to the one at GWUS. I bought, from GWUS, the Chaos Annihilation force, plus another Lord, got myself the free Title Belt Winner Ltd Ed. Marine, paid shipping costs, and still managed to pay $50 less than if I had just bought the Annihilation Force from GWOZ before shipping.
You have hit the nail on the head. The only reason I keep the Oz site bookmarked....
To keep track of what price we shouldn't be paying for our gaming.....

Chris Lilley plays all 3 main characters in the show:
Mr G who you have seen.
Ja'mie a year 11 girl on exchange from a grammar school.
Johnah a 13yo polynesian try-hard breakdancer who has already been expelled from 3 schools.
I could not find any video of the last 2 characters that would fit into the 'dakka rating' for posting.
Deadpan mockumentary humour.

We're apparently getting our own version of Kath and Kim here in the States, too. I have pretty mixed feelings about that...
And why can't I get any friggin' cricket coverage here! (besides the fact that its out of season right now...)

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack
Because americans are wildly passionate about their own brands of ballsports, pushing out the others.
Its a shame GWOZ stripped alot of the studio staff out because the Asia Pacific branch is a consistently well performing zone and I can't remember the last time we made a loss or at least were the worst performed financially.

Thanks HBMC, you've just convinced me to get the 5th ed rulebook and some BA bitz from the US rather than buy the new book from my local GW.
BTW- Did they charge the 10% GST on your order? They have added on their website that they are doing that now, but how a foreign based company is supposed to pay an Australian tax on goods bout in the US is beyond me...

Haven't been home to check the docket. I know that I didn't pay any US taxes (same as VAT is taking off when ordering from Maelstrom in the UK).
Which reminds me, if you're going to get a bunch of things that you can buy anywhere, don't get them from GWUS. Get them from Maelstrom UK. Their prices are the same (ie. between 20-40% off the Australian prices), but there are no shipping costs.
Things usually arrive within 7-10 working days as well.

It's supposed to be based on some legal requirement to charge the applicable taxes to a customer from any country in which they have a commercial presence.
Ok, I've checked the package that arrived. It was the order I made on Saturday. That was fast.
And I did get charged GST, a whopping $11. Wow.
So, for the record:
I paid AUD$160 for 2 Chaos Lords, 15 Chaos Terminators and the Heavy Weight Champion of Ultramar - all including shipping and GST - compared to AUD$180 before shipping that it would have cost for just 1 Lord and the 15 Termies had I bought them here.
Rbb wrote:Does the war store not ship over seas? You could've saved another 20%.
Chaos Lord X2 = US$40
Chaos Terminators X3 = US$150
Total = 190
Less 20% = 152
From GWUS I paid US$150, but that included shipping and an additional Lord. Not to mention the free Marine. Sorry, but the Annihilation Force, which is a Mail Order only thing, costs US$90. The Terminators alone, without the Lord, with Neal's discount, would be US$120.
The WarStore is a great place, I've ordered there before, but sometimes GW does undercut online discounters. Doesn't happen very often, but, surprisingly, the GWApoc sets are actual deals.
Rbb wrote:Does the war store not ship over seas? You could've saved another 20%.
Wondered how the Warstore manages to do this and still turn a profit? (I am assuming that Neal is not running a non-profit organisation).
Surely, the markup is not that high?
What does he charge for freight to Australia? That could make the difference?
GW US is VERY reasonable on their mail charges. Just placed a $900 order and was only charged $22 US postage!
Wish I could say the same about companies like Amazon....I was looking to order 3 computer games and the cost of postage made it not worthwhile....eg. it added about $80 US onto the transaction!
And I might add, a couple of computer games weighs a bit less than 6x 40K rulebooks!
So a big thumbs up to GW US and a big to Amazon!
So, anyone from Oz found a good US site to buy computer games?
x1 5th ed rulebook
x1 Masters of the chapter box set
x1 Dante
x2 battles in the abyss novel (one is going to one of the blackshirts at my local GW)
x1 legion novel
All with free postage from the UK due in about 7 days.
For the same cost as getting a lift (as its too far to walk and it would be the only way I could get there for free) to my local GW and buying:
x1 5th ed rulebook
x1 Masters of the chapter models box set.
A FW and GWUS purchase will soon follow as my BAs grow...

The most I've ever paid is AUD$60 for shipping from the US, and that was in a massive $300+ bitz order where pretty much everything was made of metal, not to mention multiple building sprues for CoD buildings (those things are heavy). But given it always arrives within a week or so (or 3 frickin' days in the most recent case!!!), I don't mind.
I even sent GWUS a thank you note.
Yes.
You read that right.
HBMC just sent a thank you note to GW.
And he just spoke in 3rd person.
Everyone check the temprature gague in Hell.
