Here's a bit of an update, i haven't had much time to work on it, but I've added a little bit more today.

I've worked out the sizes for the shin and leg guards, and theres a mock up with paper of them on. Also I've started looking at how to fit the legs together, the top and bottom i know how, but for now the middle will just be with cocktail sticks untill i can make a hinge for it.

Its just as well i was busy i had ran out of plasticard as well, lukily some got delivered this morning, I've just had to order some more foamboard though, so the top half will have to wait till i get that. :(

thats really starting to take shape now, just a quick thought though, will the lower part of the chest be bulked up atall?
seems a little thin / tall.

just about to get started on some new marines while i wait for plasticard, going for a red thunder kinda look, but using the SW grey slayers box since the SW tac squad looks 100X better lol.

Yup this middle will be bulked out alot. If you see where the legs joint at the hip, where the points slope up to, i'll thicken it that wide, then smooth it out to the top. Its hard to explain.

I just whipped this up, it kind of convers what i mean:

and just realised how hard and time consuming painting thunder on a model is lol, especially red thunder.

1 last thing i forgot, love the legs, the armour on em look great and makes it stand out alot.

thanks mate, ii can imagine how time consuming it can be but it'll be worth it in the end, ee i haven't painted in ages though. I'm planning on starting up a khorne demon army tho, so lots of red and nmm to come

not sure if this helps, but forgeworld have some pewter imperial eagles of various sizes, and the adeptus mech. badge (4 cm in size) should fit well on the reaver.

Yep I've been looking at them, I'm quite tempted to use the chaos reginade on e instead and make it evil. Not to sure though.

Some of the other fw symbols are nice as well, I'll probably make an order to pick up at gamesday for some.

well, 3 hours and i got the red thunder legs done XD

i only found the symbol when i started thinking of iconography for my titan, once the plasticars arrives :K

Heres a little bit of progress, I'm starting to run low on foamboard though, hopefully some more will turn up in the post tomorrow.

Heres the pics, I've started widening the body, adding the back pieces. On the back i plan on having a large ventilation area, so that will go under the piece sticking out at the back.

Also does anyone know an ebay shop that sells, 4mm, and 5mm plastic piping? Or another site that accepts paypal? thanks

only tubing i can find on ebay is flexi tubing, also, why does the tubing need to be so small?

I want to do pistons on each of the toes, and on the joints. I figure that would be an ok size, I'll have a look in the local model shop, and have an ask about.

not sure about where you live, but theres alot of shops called the range, mainly craft and hobby stores, they generally sell everything from glues, paints, small pieces of modelling sand and slate, it might be worth looking into for this and further projects.

just started a concept on my SM vet squad, got a list of over 60 parts i need for 5 models XD

and the titan is looking alot more stable now.

I'm down in newcastle, theres a modelzone, and another hobby store close by so I'll check them out.

It may look stable but, its quite volitile atm, the legs are blue tacked, I'm not sure even once there glue they will take the full weight of the top, i may run soe thick rods through it.

the rods will work, what i was going to do with mine was use spray foam, just spray it inside and it expands to fit inside the object and after a few hours goes rock solid, and it weighs pretty much nothing.

for pistons the best thing is to get 2 different thicknesses of dowel. Stick one to the other and voila!

I have added lots of wire to my 'hound but used dowel for pistons.

Well it's been quite a while since the last update. I lost interest in the model after it fell apart and took a nice long break. So now I'm back with a completely new version of the lucius reaver titan.

Here are some pictures of what I have so far after 2 nights worth of work on it.

Its been built from templates which I found on bwc archive. All the tiny bits really are annoying though.

In its present state there are many rough edges. These will be sanded and green stuffed once I have the models together as a whole. Then there will be the task of detailing. Its going to be fun doing rivets. :(
