I'm guessing this thing is basically supposed to be a Termite.

Edit: AHG!! Upon closer inspection, this thing clearly has the Lumbering rule! (First paragraph, bottom left grey box). There goes my "Zip across the table drilling Land Raiders" idea. BAH! Goes from Fast to Lumbering just because of a stupid drill!?

This is a Russ chassis, no termite or mole tunneller with transport option.Pure tunneler at 50 pts. :S

Slow drillin makes it lumbering. Maybe a "hellebore" from epic would be nice.
No, it is a Centaur chassis.

So your centaur is similar to a russ on sideview? What I see on the pic of the hades looks like a standart russ chassis.
I think i've seen a open topped transport thing at GD but i'm not sure if the hades was there as model or as CAD-draw.

I have a Centaur and I have seen actual images of the Hades and they have the same chassis.

Centaur: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/centaur.htm

Hades: http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/3991.roterschnee/40k5thEdReleaseEvent/photo#5222148035642946354

If in doubt with the second picture, just compare the size of the Hades to the just out-of-shot but not quite Death Riders seen in the mirror reflection in the back.

@ BrookM: Thanks for the pics

this little centaur-based drill would only make tunnels big enough to stand for a guardsmen. :S

Maybe it is used to place charges to blow up fortifications?

I assume that the drill would be used to storm through fortifications, because its open topped, so subterranean drilling would be difficult. The Termites etc would be used for that purpose, while this would still be functional for drilling through concrete etc.

Good call - it's hard to see from the sides of the chassis, but you can make out that the treads are the same.

What does it need to be bigger for?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Touched it up a bit, looks like the first weapon is some sort of "cannon" with melta special rule (Str: 8 AP: 1). The second weapon looks to be a 6" range or the equivalent of melee only (doesn't look like it has an inch symbol after it), Str: 10 weapon with some sort of nifty special rule, most likely 2D6 AP. The Armor appears to be 14, 10 (or 12), 10 (or 12). Also looks like BS: 3.

Apply salt as necessary.

Front of the Hades could be AV14 due to the large drill section, I am stumped however as to where the cannon might be positioned. The large drilling section has a square opening in the middle with a conveyor belt for the removal of debris, maybe there is some sort of launcher in there as well?

IMHO a little drill-tractor will produce tunnels to bring exlosives into position and breach the surface fortifications by undermining.
Bigger variants with transport option may really drill through ground or walls to deliver storm-squads.
Open topped vehicles are not good at surviving what the defenders threw at them.Even in ancient days siege-machines were not
open topped. The only way to use slow moving open vehicles is a environment where your opponent can't attack from above.
Tunnels are such a place.
