As the thread name says, just wandered over to Forgeworld, and what did I find, but IA6 in preorder. Yay!

Apparently it comes with a poster, and there should be some great stuff in there, amongst others the mole mortar, as well as the Hades Breachign Drill.

This thing is on my definite "to get" list.

And now, Piccies:

Heh, same here. This baby is sooooo overdue.

Breaching Drill looks awesome, looks like 50 pts, deep strike, and Av14 allround..... (This is mainly guesswork, cause the picture is pretty grubby, but I´m almost 100% on the 50pts cost.)

So, HBMC, is yours ordered yet?

WOW, awesome, im definitely getting this. I suppose this means that the Chaos Reaver is going to be revealed soon?

edit:wait, theres no mention of it in the book. Am I mistaken in thinking that there was to be a Chaos Reaver titan in this book?

Very nice.

Too bad there is no Nurgle in it because FW has come up with some nice Nurgle models. Hopefully SoV part 3 won't take so long.

Part I - II took a good year, so expect to see part 3 out in August 2009.

Pretty sweet - although it's hard to tell from the TOC what kind of new rules we'll be getting. Most of the entries that look like they'll include rules appear to be rehashes of old stuff.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. At least I might have the models painted by then.

Based on the TOC, it looks like the Chaos Reaver won't turn up until then ... although the model and interim rules will probably turn up before then.

Hmm, the TOC looks fairly thin, as in there's not that much new stuff in there. Reaver, Hades, DK Engineers and the Macharius Vulcan for the Imperial side. Compared to the amount of entries in IAV5, that's pretty thin.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

so who's going to be the first to buy a whole Legio, 40K scale?
thought there might be a 40K errata for the death corps, as all the squads listed in 5 have the imperial guard upgrade die-hards that negates the minus mod in cc for being outnumbered - now a completely redundant 5points per unit upgrade. I did talk to FW about this and they suggested just taking off the 5points per squad.

I'm really looking forward to this book though, first and foremost as another solid background book, secondly for the rules, especially those regarding combat engineers.

Either that or the Commisar is fond of smoking cheap Cadian cigars and the boys just want to be polite...

Given that they are wearing Gas Masks, I'm going to assume they are ALL screaming.

At the very least the HSO and the Commissar are screaming at the engineer.

"THE ENEMY FORTRESS IS 10 KLICKS THAT WAY!"
"YOU DRILLED TO THE SURFACE TOO SOON, IDIOT!"

Also, I'm fairly certain the Hades has a Melta or Multi-Melta (as rumoured) from this pic. It also definitely has some form of deepstrike (but, true to Forge World form, is likely needlessly complicated, as evidenced by the massive amount of text in the grey box after the blurred words of "Deep Strike", damn you Kinrade).

I'm surprised it has 2 weapons. And the 2nd one looks like... STR10?! Dear god, can I DRILL people to death?

... Oh sweet Jesus. If I CAN, I'm getting 12 of these little buggers and just running them full speed across the battlefield.

The Hades is based on the Centaur so I wouldn't be surprised if the thing had AV 10 all round and judging from the close ups I've seen thus far it comes with just a massive drill and nothing else.

edit.

I think the two weapons are special demolition charges, I can faintly make out what I think are plasma and melta.

Going by the profile alone we can tell it has at least 2 weapons.

The top one looks like it is Str 8, AP1, with an extra, 5 letter word in the description (Melta, anyone?).

I definitely have no clue on the bottom one... Maybe they just tacked on a Heavy Stubber too. Because EVERYTHING needs a stubber!!

And the Centaur isn't AV10 all around, this doesn't appear to be either (I'm guessing either 11 or 14 on the front, from this picture. 14 because a GIANT WALL OF METAL DRILL makes sense to be a bit tougher than sheet metal with viewports in it. Or 11 because that's what the Centaur is, making sense is not their strong point, and they never give us anything that good...)

It also appears to be open-topped and a transport.

I'm guessing this thing is basically supposed to be a Termite. Which is cool, it'll let me take the Quad Plasma/Melta command squad with Demo charges without breaking the fluff of my army. Booyah!

Edit: AHG!! Upon closer inspection, this thing clearly has the Lumbering rule! (First paragraph, bottom left grey box). There goes my "Zip across the table drilling Land Raiders" idea. BAH! Goes from Fast to Lumbering just because of a stupid drill!?

This is a Russ chassis, no termite or mole tunneller with transport option.Pure tunneler at 50 pts. :S

Slow drillin makes it lumbering. Maybe a "hellebore" from epic would be nice.

I have blown up and "sharpened"* the pic in photoshop, it gives us a slightly better view of what it says. From what it looks like, Two weapons, first is a melta, and the second is unreadable, but also AP 1.

Its armour is really weird. I'd swear that it said 11, 9, 9 but theres been no tanks like that since the RT days.

Its definitely lumbering, but it also has a special rule mentioning tunneling (presumably for DS). There is also a special rule: ??? Tanks - Fuel tanks, drilling tanks, what do you think?

*Yes, I know that it doesnt help that much, but its a bit bigger now

The breaching drill is going to be something that no evil overlord in =][= will be able to do without. They just tie up the hero loosely in front of it and set it to 'slow enough to allow daring escape' speed. Then get thrown in front of it and die horribly.
