I was suggesting this type of ship, http://www.totalnavy.com/35lcvp.htm
a Landing Ship Tank will be unavaible at the 40k scale unless you make one by yourself and then it would crowd everthing else from the game table but a LCVP, the version we see at every movie might be better.

You know, I had a look at it at a local 'railway model shop' (incidently, the only shop in the city that sells these kinds of kits), and I think the conversion is actually quite simple. Grab one of these, get a hold of the sides and tracks of a Baneblade, slap some glue on them and viola: instant Gorgon! Once my studies afford me more than two hours of spare time, I'll have a look into it. Thanks for the links and advice!
Also new today; I has bomb squigs! (bad grammar intentional. I really shouldn't spend so much time on www.icanhascheezburger.com)
These nifty little buggers finally arrived in the mail today, and what can I say; they're Tony the Tiger-grrrrrrrrrrrrrreeat! Nice sculpts, suitably imposing and the perfect size for my little grotzmen (meaning; about the same size as them ) I was afraid that they might be a bit too small to count as Cyclops demo vehicles, but after seeing them I think they'll fit perfectly. I'll get a few pictures of them up later today, after I've spent a few hours working on my sociology report.

You walk a mystical path, and are a creature of the spiritual and the supernatural. You are introspective and self-reliant, but nobody will ever question your bravery or commitment to justice.

Thanks Crazy Commie, glad you like them
Just wanted to pop by and let you know that the project hasn't died, it is just on hold until I can
finish my last two sociology exams. Come December I should be able to get some work done
on them. Second centaur finally arrived in the mail the other day, so now I have no excuse!

Gorgon
Now there's no way in [insert supposedly warm place here] that I'll be buying a Gorgon from FW. But the idea of giving my Grot
commandante a pimped-up ride along the lines of Jabba the Hut's Sand Crawler-palace thingy for Star Wars is tempting. I'd
probably have to scour the local toy shops for something that could be converted into one, but the idea is there.

Cool idea!
Apocalypse reload contains a baneblade variant (the stormblade) which has good infantry carrying capacity (40 guys or something) and carries a vulcan mega-bolter. The fact that it's based on a baneblade chassis should make it a) less pricy then a gorgon b) more useful and c) relatively easy to make. Two huge gatling guns also have a certain greenskin feel to me

I feel your pain on the infantry platoon issue. I'm actually doing pretty the same thing as you are!
Maybe the ogryn squad could be a squigbrained nob squad led by a mad orderly? They have the top part of their head hastily stitched/glued back on, and the bone'ed could have the orderly standing on it's shoulders looking deranged. Nobs are fairly easy to get a hold of too, although they should probably have guns to be more in line with the ogryns.
Mega armored nobs would be a little strange with the armor differences.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it. |
