For the mundane at heart, khorne demons and a maelstrom of gore and a bunch of defilers...

3000 points of each... hmmm say 3 bloodthirsters and 6 units of 20 bloodletters...
half drop in front of your lines and the maelstrom begins its sprint. The defilers walk ahead and drop their pieplates.

What you takin down? bloodthirsters and bloodletters charging you next turn? Maelstrom charging into you the next turn or the defilers charging into you the following turn. Could be fun.

Meh, taking daemons in Apoc is just a waste of points, as the disrupter beacon really ruins their day. As do mystics and baneblades. 32 points per inq mystic and it shuts down any thing deepstriking anywhere near them. or stick them in that transport baneblade, and cast sanctuary. Laugh at the daemons as you become a big giant unkillable roadblock.

I add my vote to the "epidemius/greater daemon/plague marine army, followed by deep striking of 200+ nurglings" army. Give those plague marines some good shooting (plasma guns, flamers, etc.), and watch them and the GDs rack up the tally.

Unrelated but awesome, 16 bloodletters in a LRC. 64 WS5 S5 I5 power weapon attacks on the charge, with frags, out of an AV14 vehicle. good friggin night. Hell, give 'em a doom farseer for more cheese.

Eldar and Tau are even worse.each covers the other armies weakness, while augmenting their stengths at the same time. It is nasty combo. However there is a drought of decent toys for Tau at Apocalypse level, only the lacklustre Manta, which is no match for a real titan. Also guard are an Apocalypse army, masny of their toys in the regular liss only come into their own on large boards, specifically the artillery.

I've tried the Fateweaver/Ann'grath combo and it worked wonders.

Fatey was hidden behind Ann'grath all the time, who managed to shrug off the fire of a 5000 point AC army (20 Leman Russ, 3 Baneblades), only taking a single wound in the whole game.

In another game I even put them next to a Chaos Altar to hold an objective: Ann'grath had a re-rollable 3+inv, and Fatey a re-rollable 2+inv

I'm going to use the chaos tide of spawn box to make 10 daemon princes, each with lash. Pick an enemy unit or 2, lash it/them 5-10 times until they're in front of you, then jump on it with as many I6 daemon princes you think you'll need. Each prince is individual and immune to instant death.

Flank March those and you'll really wreck shop. Anything assaulting you will get pulled backwards, and anything shooting will die instantly.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Something to do with Fire Prisms. Ten w/holos for 1500 pts isn't too bad. Complete freedom of linkage is something else. Ten AP4 plates, or five AP3s, all mobile, awesome range. Then again, you don't even need the holo fields. Save 350 points, sit back, and watch everything turn to slag...

How are you getting chosen aspiring champions? In the new codex only one member of a chosen unit can be an aspiring champion.

Much better with the spotting rounds that come from the Emperor's [Whatever] formation in the basic Apoc book.

I've done Eldar plus Guard before. We stomped our 'nid opponents so grievously that I (the Eldar player) was about to turn on the IG and slaughter them. Unfortunately, we ran out of time. Next time, manlings...

Angron with a 12 bloodthirster retinue backed up by skarbrand and Ann'grath seems like it would be a pretty powerful combo.

I'd love to stick Shrike in with a unit of Sisters Repentia. Titan/Superheavy hunting from board edges make actually make them /worth/ their ludicrous point cost. And the look on your opponents face, when he realizes how many eviscerators you have swinging at his expensive unit of doom is going to be priceless.

How about The Green Tide led by chapter master Azrael? He would give the unit a 4+ invulnerable save. You could add Eldrad to it too, since he's everywhere these days.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

It doesn't work against assaults but IG defence lines asset + Camo cloaks, you now have 2+ cover saves on gaurdsmen. get it with the Emperors Shield formation and add in Vox casters for when you do get assaulted.......Oh yeah lets not forget by the RAW you can use "on my coordinates" on both players turns.

Green Tide is ripe for abuse. I played a game featuring a 130 Strong Tide with no less than 5 Warbosses, Ghaz, Grotsnik and a Mek with KFF attached to it. Our gaming club also ruled that a Green Tide should be multiple boyz mobs glued together (like in the picture on the entry) rather than 1 massive boyz mob (with is what the rules say) meaning it had 13 nobs in there too. Not to mention an Eldar ally with more Farseers than sense casting all manner of wonderful boons upon the unit.

And it still only lasted 2 turns of shooting before i had essentially a unit of independent character left. Imperial Assassins taking out the Mek and Grotsnik ftl.

Ok, this would be pretty insane. A baneblade squadron of 3 baneblades and behind them is a bog mek with KFF and the fateweaver. So, the baneblades would get 4+ re-roll cover saves. they basically wouldnt die.
