You need different paints. The paint you are using looks too thick and caked on. The flesh tone looks awkward and thick. No eyes are painted. you could use some flesh wash. Also just get the wash set in general. The models have no highlighting or shading. Some paint looks like enamel. Enamel looks horrible always. However if you are just starting then it looks ok. They look a lot like my old models when I first started painting.

Before you paint the ligting you should dry brush the black with grey, then after you painted the lighting to a thinner line in the centerof it in a lighter blue

Bro, hit the guns with some metal looking highlights/paint/washes. Break up the battle cannons lines with some lighting pattern stuff to.

I would ditch the red altogether on the tanks, or keep it in smaller areas like lights and squad markings.

And although you said you're not done yet, cleaning up the flesh color that got on the uniforms will go a long way towards making these look proper.

Good start, and fast painting!

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

i agree with savnock on that one. dont lose the red all together but get it off the guns. make it a minor detail. like markings and such. that would contrast plenty on the dark colors of your tank. also i think you need to dry brush some metal on them guns. do it lightly so it doesnt become over baring. not to bad for a first time tho keep it up

I'd stick some 'Jags' on your tank to help break it up a bit, make it more camo. aslthough it does look cool, i can still 'see it' too easily

There was the female Comissar model from Games day. You can usually find one or two on Ebay or around. I think it's practically required, esp for a Baroness.
