Saw Robin Williams come into a game store to buy some 40k stuff for his kids.
Other than that, I live in LA and often hang out in Hollywood, so famous people show up all over the place even when you are not looking for them.
Saw Uma Therman at the airport about 2 weeks ago while I was flying back to Phoenix. She was very dressed down and looked like she was trying very hard not to attract any attention.

Hmm well....
I've met John Major, Michael Howard, Anne Widdicombe, Peter Mandelson, Alan davies, Gavin Estler, Jo Brand, 3 arch bishops of canterbury, 2 heads of the Uk catholic church, 2 chief rabbis, John Humphries, Peter Mandelson and a few others at work.
Michael Howard-- I gak you not-- charm personified. Widdecombe like zelda off of Terrahawks. Most shocking thing was EVERY woman I worked with reckoned that John major was sex personified. Janet Street Poret swears like a trooper but is funny, Peter Mandelson is horrific, very slimy and creepy in general.
Apart from that I've met most on NiN and Marilyn Manson, The Prodigy, The Streets, Cypress Hill, and a fair few other bands. We used to get backstage a lot in my younger days. The Jim Rose circus of grunge was the weirdest party we went to.
*sighs*.... man they were good times.... oh to be young again.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Hmmm... John Gummer came here once to open a pink double decker bus...
Caroline Quentin from Men Behaving Badly used to get the same train as the one I got home from school, she lives in Walberswick sometimes which isn't far from here.
The captain from the Titanic film lives in the nearest town, I see him in the Post Office sometimes, and tooling around in his Land Rover Discovery.
I've had dinner with Sir Ranulph Fiennes, twice, the people I used to lodge with were great friends of his and were on the trans-globe expedition with him so he came to stay sometimes. I also got back stage tickets to see him filming on Top Gear. Possibly one of the most interesting people I've ever met.
Richard Hammond and James May from Top Gear. The Stig, although he said nothing.
Archbishop Desmond Tutu came to our school and chatted to some of us. I was polite and didn't bother telling him I was an Atheist, he was a very nice man.
Some members of the GB equestrian Olympic team, Daisy Dick, Pippa Funnell, William Fox-Pitt etc.
Ronnie Corbett was on the same flight from Dubai to Heathrow as me.
Claims to lame:
Some of my old school friends went to primary school with Charlie from Busted/Fightstar.
One of my friends used to be babysat by the lead singer from A.
My cousin once met Roger Taylor, drummer from Queen, at a drinks party. She didn't know who he was.

My cousin is James Spader. He used to read me bed time stories when I was a kid. Does that count?

Unfortunalty shortly after he made Tuff Turf, around the time he was making Pretty in Pink and Less than Zero he almost completely withdrew from the family. I haven't spoken with him in years. Oh well. Never can tell what fame will do to a person.

Ah, it happens. I can only imagine how many people want a piece of him. I bet it gets hard to do normal simple things that we all take for granted. I believe it is the cost of fame.

Leroy Loggins who is an ex basketballer (and olympian) here in Oz (although born and raised in the US) is currently wheeling his kid back and forwards in front of my office on the ward...
Saw the cast of Superbad at the premiere in LA last year (about 15m away)
Once (as a student in 1994) sat in a room with the ex-priminister (Paul Keating) and asked him why special interest groups had so much sway over government.

When I was a bairn I apparently once kicked Ted Rogers of 3-2-1- fame in the shins.
Oh, and Darth Vader/David Prowse came to the local branch of Debenhams for a promotion.... and then fainted due to the harsh store lights. To this day I can remember the store annoucement of " we're sorry boys and girls but Darth Vader has to go and water his TIE fighter."

I used to work outside the BBC offices in Marylebone High St. If I saw Vanessa Felts one more time driving around in her drop-top mini I would have exploded and gone postal on the toffee-nosed residents.
Spotted Noel Gallagher there too. Or was it has slightly more annoying brother, I forgets?
