I completely agree. Jade sounds really good. Maybe Emerald, Topaz or something like that, would be another nice options... Or you just can think about other gems or precious stones for finding ways of naming colors in a more literate way.
I you go for animals, snakes or lizards should be the way to follow, but they are (or at least they use to be) green, so using green adjectives will be redundant.
Maybe you can think in some mitological beasts, but we have the same problem here that with reptiles. Adequate mythological beasts, use to be green. Jade Dragons could maybe sounds good, but is really redundant.
I suggest you choosing one way or another: "Green Something" or "Something Beast".
It cames to my mind "Wraiths", "Specters" or something like that for using as a Noun after the "Greenie" Adjective: "Jade Ravenants" or "Emerald Wraiths" sounds good for me. And the "ghostly" theme would be adequate if they are somekind of stalky armie (They move in the jungle like stalking ghost, don't they?).
But anyways, English is not my mother tongue so maybe (probably) I´m saying nonsenses =D
