I agree with what you are saying Democratus, but is an entirely different topic then what I was addressing.
I assumed the efficiency of the Crusader mentioned above was due to shooting capability when moving 12". Otherwise I am not seeing how the Crusader is more effiecent then a redeemer when moving at 12".

It's more efficient because the one weapon it can fire after moving is a better all-purpose weapon. The uber flamers are only useful out to about 8". Bolters have twice the range and an assault cannon has three times the range.
There are special situations when the flamer is good for the job. But they could be rare depending on the enemy.

Most efficient of the 3 when moving 6" you mean. All three are stuck firing one weapon if moving over 6".
I mean the rule hurricane bolters means you can fire regardless of how far you have moved, atleast in my Daemonhunters codex.
Land Raider Crusader - Which means 2 hurricane bolter turrets + machine spirit weapon can fire when moving 12"
Land Raaider/Redeemer - compared to just Machine spirit weapon when moving 12"
@Mr tibbles, yes a orks player almost nearly refuses to play against me, even though I have single LRC at 1500pts... Soon be increased to two.

Marine LRC's don't fire the hurricane bolter sponsons when moving 6.00001" or more. At least not that I'm aware of.

For SM, the Land Raider variants are much more useful for their army. The CSM forces only get the vanilla version, which is probably the worst of all the Land Raiders without the machine spirit. There are a slew of changes that could be made to correct this issue. Splitting fire and/or shooting weapons on a 12" move are the ones that could make the biggest difference.
The Redeemer and Crusader are equipped with short range weapons that also can inflict a lot of pain in one round of shooting and therefore don't get wasted by moving 12" in the first few turns. Additionally, once they get there, they can inflict a lot of damage in a short time frame. On the flip side, the LR has minimal shots from weapons that don't compliment each other.

Do not forget, however, that LR of all sorts scare the pants of your foes. They will attract a lot of Firepower. The better range of the HB and Lascanon weapon system mean they can still cause trouble if immobilized, makeing Vanilla LRs better for the "Big scary tank of Death" role that I have seen used. Vanilla LRs are also better against enemy Treadheads and Nidzilla lists.

I thought the idea behind the hurricane bolters what that they were basically crap weapons but they could always fire regardless of movement. If that changed then they are about crap unless you are in the sweet spot.
