B serious. It must B clear to all what the answer must B!

Also, FNP is the way to go. The rule is very clear and totally fluffy for 'crons. An orc doc repairs damaged orks via FNP. So why not self repair a necron via FNP?

The res. orb will allow a FNP re-roll like a grot orderly!

MAKE OF THIS WHAT YOU WILL, FOR YOU WILL BE MINE IN THE END NO MATTER WHAT!

Mechanically, FNP is very, very similar to WBB. It really doesn't alter your gameplay to take FNP rolls instead of WBB rolls. It's when you throw in monolith teleporting, rez orbs, and all that clunky gak that WBB gets stupid and clunky.

I figure that something like Without Number would be cool for We'll Be Back, allowing players to recycle units back onto the board once they've been killed off.

Why is that not a good idea?

And I didn't say units within 6", I said models within 6". Big difference.

Besides, I hate rules that are exceptions to exceptions or that break other rules more than once. FNP is already an exception to a rule (may take this on top of other saves). S8 and AP3 (or better) counters that, and then we add another rule that counters that. So we end up with a piece of equipment that breaks a rule that breaks a rule that breaks a rule.

No. Invul Save is far simpler and far more elegant. It doesn't require thought, it's automatic. Within 6" of the Lord? Great! You've got a 4+ invul save. No messing around with multi-layered special rules.

Please do not turn this thread into a discussion of whether WBB should become FNP.

Start a thread in the proposed rules forum if you'd like to discuss that further.

Right or wrong, we have always played it that the Lord makes his WBB roll, and if he fails, the other models are screwed, but if he passes, then they get to use the Orb.

Again, not saying we are doing it right or wrong, but thats just how I remember playing it.

Necron lord down? No more foolin' around with your ball of undeadness, thats how its played around here.

Given the rules that are present I would agree with the fact that once the Lord goes down his Res Orb can only be used on himself and all other Necrons cannot benefit from it. I can make up some fluff to justify my position but the rules speak for them selves.

If the lord is downed before the other necrons and the other necrons had no save, thus relying on the orb, they do NOT get to use the orb (the Lord is IGNORED).

IF the FAQ stated the orb check happened when you make the wbb roll, then this would be different. You make that check as soon as the model is downed and other downed models are ignored.

Please note - terms like 'always/never' are carried with the basic understanding that there are exceptions to the rule, and therefore are used to mean generally...
