C:CSM FAQ Quote: "...'No Retreat' wounds are not directly caused by any particular enemy unit."

'any particular enemy unit' does not specifically say that a unit in your army did not cause the wounds, it just points out that it wasn't a specific one. So I would say as long as all your models are nurgle or have marks of nurgle then the wounds count.

As even though we don't know which specific unit caused them. We know that a unit did cause them. Since all of your models would add to the total it doesn't matter that you don't know, just that you know it must add to the total.

Edit: You RAW Nazis out there may argue the line 'any particular enemy unit' does not specifically say that a unit in your army did not cause the wounds, it just points out that it wasn't a specific one. But this is an insane reading at best and only leads to some very weird mind warping around this line.

HA! I knew I would catch one.

Anyway to wrap your head around this logistical nightmare, you would have to have a full army of only nurgle units. Because if you choose to argue that it wasn't any specific unit in the army that did it, your opponent can simply point out that unit of Deamonettes and say well I think they did it, or perhaps that soulgrinder in that corner did it, or maybe it was that grot somebody left on the table, or perhaps you should stop being such a RAW nazi (not you, just pointing out a possible conversation to spring forth if you pursue that line of thinking.)

I think this is one where you and your opponent have to agree ahead of time on how you'll play. Personally I agree with Stelek that there is such a thing as 'neutral' damage, however in the case of no retreat I don't believe the wounds ARE neutral due to the fact that you have to reference the Winning unit(s) str stat. Now in the case of a MULTIPLE assault where there is no clear way of telling which unit is handing out the no retreat wounds, then they would revert back to 'neutral'.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.
