Quick update. Finished the cleanup work w/ black on the remaining 11 bikes and 2 attack bikes. Started the UM coat on 2 bikes and 1 AB and the company colors on the same few bikes.

Wow, just to say, I'm painting my 6th company now ( I started on 1 ) it gets insanely tedious.

To update from last month. I was able to finish three bikes before other issues took over my life.

However Adepticon is less than 40 days away and I need to bulk out my army in preparation. For the team tourney and the Championship I need to add several units.

Change:
3 SGTs to have PF and combi weapons
1 flamer to a melta
1 Multi-melta to a PlasmaCannon

Add
2 Attack Bikes
2 Land Speeders
1 Squad SM Scout Snipers
1 Predator (Magnetized)
1 Squad Assault Terminators (Magnetized)
1 Land Raider Redeemer
1 Librarian

In the last two weeks I have:
Painted two Attack bikes in 3rd Co colors (to be converted to 6th Co after Adepticon)
Converted one current PF SGT to have a combi-weapon
Built 2 PF SGTs w/ combi-weapons and painted them
Built 1 Meltagun TacMarine and painted him
Built 1 Plasma Cannon TacMarine and painted him
Built six sniper scouts -- base coated and started painting
Built two land speeders -- base coated
Built one Predator -- base coated
Cut and Trimmed one Land Raider -- built redeemer flame cannon assemblies

Still Waiting on:
Forge World order to come in to the Bunker, (LR doors and Terminator shoulder pads)
Purchase Assault Terminators
Motivation to attempt a good paint job on the librarian

Plans for this week:
Finish Tac Marines
Finish Scouts
Start Land Speeders

Hours spent: Who knows, who cares.

So far I finished the 2 SGT's, 1 Assault weapon, and 1 hvy weapon Tac Marines
I also finished 5 Sniper scouts.
I am behind my schedule by about 1 day, due to I a combination of an ambitious schedule and distractions. I'm hoping to get back on track over the weekend. My next Steps Two Land Speeders done by Sunday and the Predator done by midweek. That leaves me waiting for my ForgeWorld order to come in. And painting my Librarian, we frightens me.

I'll post pictures over the weekend.

I need to bust my hump this weekend as one of my work projects just got a bright light shined on it and I need to finish a lot or work real quick.

Taking a child induced break from painting and figured I'd update. Just about finished w/ the two land speeders and the predator. So that puts me well ahead of my schedule while I wait for my FW order to come in.

I'll post pictures tomorrow. For the meanwhile, off to look at IA 2 for inspiration.

I love it when they fall into the deep end of the pool.

Also heres a tip when you make your first company get parts from the black templars and dark angels, so that you can diversefy your models. Best way to make a 1st company is by making them look badass.

It's kind of funny, for the amount of people out there with the exact same paint schemes as yours (Ultramines) I rarely see them well done.

Tonight I decided to stop being afraid and started my Librarian, I printed out the picture from GW.com and am using that as a guide. Here are some WIP pics with tonights progress. I figure I'm about 25% done w/ him at this point. Still lots to do...

Over the weekend I built the Terminators while i wait for my FW order to comein.

I also finished my Librarian

Started painting on the Assault Term squad and their Land Raider. Maybe will be done w/ that by the end of the weekend.

You really seems to be in a hurry, I collect the Ultramarines third company too! But I have been working on that army for more the three years and got less troops then you.
I think that you could still do with some improvement on your painting skills, but you'll manage. (Though my skills aren't much better I guess.)
Also, are you aiming on making an apocalypse army?

@Cor Angars, Thanx for the backhanded compliment. My painting skills have improved over the past two years and happily plateaued at what I consider to be a decent table top quality. I have no real desire to paint at a competitive level or to even enter a golden demon. I'm having fun climbing the mountain that is painting over 1000 blue marines and nearly 100 blue tanks.

As for progress, I've finished the 5 Assault Terminators and the Land Raider Redeemer I need for adepticon '10.

Well, the post Adepticon break is over. ;-) I spent parts of this weekend cleaning and organizing my work/play area. The past two weeks also saw me put together another 24 Bikes and 8 Attack bikes. So that's 6 squads of bikes and one full squad of Attack bikes. This week I will put together two rhinos and twenty tac marines. I plan to have this army at least put together by the end of the month. So that also means 5 more attack bikes (to be purchased) and three more Dreadnaughts. I also need to come up w/ a Khan conversion for a commander. I am holding off painting until more is put together so I only have to airbrush for one day and not a little here and there.

I'll post pics over this week.

Well, I've been overwhelmed w/ the amount I have to paint. I've gone downstairs to paint each night and I see 90+ marines, 3 Dreadnaughts, 2 Rhinos, and a Predator staring up at me asking for paint. So I'm gonna put away most of the marines, put them in a box or two and put them out of sight and try to concentrate on one squad at a time.

I did paint up one of this years adepticon models as an Office of the Fleet for my son's Catachan army. I painted to my table top standard, which isn't bad, but puts me at the bottom of my local gaming group.

Calgar: A few
Sicaruius: Not yet, plan on getting a few of his sculpts
Chronus: Yes
The rest I will get in time. I've been hesitant to buy and paint characters as my skills aren't up to them yet.

2nd Squad nearly done, need to add decals. I will post pictures tomorrow.

On a side note, I burned through most of the original Robotech series today on Hulu while I painted. First on a iPad then on a laptop. Good source of background noise.

WOW that are a lot of bue smurfs o.0, did you win a lottery or something? there al good painted, But maybe you can try to highlight the sergeants and special characters, that will let them pop out of the army.

Hightlighting is one of those area's that I know I don't to well at all, to the point of making things worse, IMHO. So I don't try at this point. Maybe later.
