I love your very subtle highlights. Very nice contrast from most of the Space Marines I've seen, though I'm sure under such harsh lighting they don't look nearly as good as they would in person.

Very cleanly done, and I'm surprised to say I don't see a single problem with them (I'm usually pretty scrutinous).

Eeek, that blue is a perfect highlight to break up the red.

Very pretty marines. I love your clean style. Your red is suburb. Do you mind giving a little tutorial about how you achieve the clean color and highlights. Color choices and methods? I have some fantasy knights that could benefit from that style of red. No prob if your protective of your method. If not thanks in advance!!!!!

**** Edit: Found your blog and read how you did it. Is it really that easy? It seems you did much more then the method your described. If that really is all you did. I am super impressed with how easy and effective it is. Nice job.****

Thank you everyone.

@ Sha1emade - Yes, It's that easy.

I wanted a simple and fast method that allowed for a good table top quality and the above pictures are the results. The only things that I can mention that I don't think I did in my blog are:

  • Water down the Mechrite Red a little.

  • Cover the whole model with Devlan Mud.

  • Do not water down the Blood Red to dry brush.

  • Lastly, only dry brush the outer most parts where light hits.

Looks really good! Red is always my bane, but I should try using more Devlan Mud. A suggestion, blacklining/brownlining would make these models really pop. I usually use the 005 for infantry models, sometimes the 01 for vehicles. They're usually available at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
