all four of its legs are planted on the ground, and its rear legs are perp. to its body. I sowwie hun bunz. its statix.

This is done very well, but my only real problem with it is the legs. Not that the legs couldn't support such a beast, just that they seem kind of static. In the same sense I can see the 'Fex running forward, but I feel that its pose conveys more of a 'stasis' than a "Time to be rended into nothing".

However, I still think its great. Maybe like others have said fix its front legs so it looks like its poised to leap. Regardless if you fix it I still think it will look great. Would love to see the finished product, especially if you could somehow have the Ork firing wildly at its underbelly, or having shells bounce off its underbelly. Also, it would be neat to see shells around the Ork where he has been firing at the Fex wildly.

Yeah. It needs some tweaks before it'd work.

The ground would be getting crushed in where the talons are jabbing into it, considering the size of the creature and the small surface area of the feet.

On a more stylistic thing, I would agree with the earlier people that it is too static and just flat and not-attacking.

Up-date, i have just finished adding the last of the green stuff for the model and have added smoke coming out of the "chimney" things on its back for toxic masia, also a shot buncing off the under belly of the fex .

@Elnicko5, my fex strikes at Int 2 [adrenal gland +1 I] so i can kill the power fist peeps before they hurt me also the flesh hooks allow me to move over impassable terrain.

You are right, I am one hundred percent right behind you. This has happened to me in the past and it put me off the site for several months. P4NC4K3 you could have phrased your answer in a more civil and supportive way for someone simply sharing an idea/question.

I kinda like it.
It is possibly a bit static.
My other gripe is how different it is to the other nids in the GW range.
I would be tempted to make one or two broods of smaller creatures with the same 'leg style'.

As for the paint.........
Not the best pics. It's hard to tell how well shaded/highlit it is.
Perhaps it needs a quick wash?
The colours work fine.
I like it, simple, quick?, do you have many more to go?

Here are the pics i have promised, i have started to undercoat [you can see the start in the pics].

A few notes, im terrible at working with greenstuff, hence the weird toxic masia. Im happy with the turn out for the bullets bouncing off the bottom of the fex, a bit bulky but i still like it. i will be painting it tonight and will post progress pics along the way but here are the pics,

If I could make a suggestion...

if you cut off the tip on each leg it will appear as if the points are pushed into the ground, I reckon this would look more realistic and make the whole mini more stable.

Very nice 'Fex's here, guys.

One final suggestion I might add for the Ork shooting at the 'Fex, and I can't tell from the pics, but maybe add some fewer shorter brass wires for "sparks". However, I think its fine as it is now. You might try it out and see for yourself if its worth adding more or not. Oh, actually one more suggestion (a comical one) if you have more Ripper swarms you might have one swarm fighting over the Orks hand. Or one scurrying away with it. (Now I think THAT might be over-doing it for sure. )

Ok, modelling is over now, thanx for all your ideas and help, we can do all this again sometime when i do my second godfex!! ^^

Note: i have lowered the scything talons and added sand to the area to make it look as if it has unk into it from the weight, and as a result, one of the talons sets off the base but oh well, i still like it


Now i have started painting it, i have done a undercoat and have started the base coat, and has a sneak peek at my next painting project not conversion, a limited edition Eldar Bonesinger, but i want to have a good base for it, any ideas? eg, wraithbone, etc.

I _really_ don't understand how that Carnifex stays on the base. Is there a rod somewhere that I just can't see? The contact points are just so tiny...

@Arctik_Firangi, even before i cut down the talons to fit with it's size, it actually is balanced, i have added one large washer to the bottom to be sure of it but honestly it is balanced without the washer

I can see that now on the more recent pics... but balanced doesn't mean secure. Maybe you should drop it a foot or so and see....

Hey squig looking good, though i know this might annoy you, how is it attached, just with glue or pin viced up the legs and into the base?

lol, one of my friends joked that only way to test whether it really was worthy of the title "Godfex" is to drop his thraka on it and if thraka broke then it was gos but if it broke thraka was the real god. lol

I accepted that thraka would win that one, so we'll hae to wait for the battle to really decide who the god is ^^

well as far as thrakka vs your fex... my money would be on thrakka
then again im partial. nice job man that thing really looks good!

Thraka may be a ork warlord but he strikes at Int 1 where as the fex strikes at 2, both dont have invulnerable saves [unless ghaz called a waaagh], my fex has 5 wounds and can have up to 9 attacks on the charge, ghaz has 7 on the charge, fex can regenerate, ghaz cant.

It's hard to say, i think its down to whether ghaz waaaghed

K, so took a Carni against Thraka,

I charged so i got the advantage and due to lucky shooting just before he was alone but at full health.

Carni's WS was boosted to 4 and the toxic miasma reduced his to 5
i had six initial
strengh 10 vs t5 2 to hurt (wounds 5) due to the !WAAAgh! invulnerable thing he takes two wounds)
i make an addition d3 1/2 stregth attacks (2 wounds) 1 save (down to one )

his attacks back, hitting on a 4+ (miasma)(3 hit)
s10 against T 7 (3 wounds, i'm left with 2)
end turn (and his invunerable)
4 attacks where i hit on 4+ (3 hit) with rerolls (acid maw) (all hit)
2s to splat................... gone
used the claw as a toothpick
soz could have gone the other way though.
