I must concur it seems to be lacking now in 5th. I currently run "static" tau, I put my suits behind fire warriors to give them some extra kick.

When I split my suits out by themselves they usually catch too much flak for them to counter - snipers, hvy guns. As of late I've been having trouble with runing beserkers of khorne with winged princes, bloodthristers and deep striking blood letters. I just run out of room to keep the suits moving. My only sulution thats I've come up with so far is more suits, I'm takeing suggestions though.

So back to JSJ...I find that using small pieces of terain you can jump over and get back accross easy (forcing them to go through or around) also has worked.

Thats pretty much what I do With the static bait that I put out. Fits the fluff, too.

As to suggestions, Well there is a tactic that brings up a contradiction in the Tau fluff. Sacrificial squad. One story says lives a to precious to waste, yet on the other hand theres the failsafe detenator.

I try to live up to my name and concentrate on one fast squad until its gone then move to the next. I try to punch a hole then use a cheap/ tough(ha ha me make funny) squad for assault blocking (kroot)as I get out of the corner. My crisis JSJ is what allows this tactic to work. I generaly don't start seriously moving for an objective(if Obj based) until turn 4, turn 3 if waaayy in backfield.
