If bringing the GK up to date would conflict with fluff than the fluff can be changed.

Pfft. They have NEMESIS Force Weapons. They're not even Power Weapons.
Chrysaor686 wrote:Giving them speed on top of that would just be beyond ridiculous. Not to mention that they re-roll all of their shooting rolls-to-hit.
They... what? They don't re-roll their shooting rolls to-hit. I think some Grey Knight player's been cheating with ya.

Oh, sure. Yeah, great. Then we can have Grey Knight Bikers, and Grey Knight Assault Marines, and Grey Knight Scouts, and Grey Knight Scout Bikers, and Grey Knight Thunderfire Cannons, and Grey Knight Masters of the Forge, and Grey Knight Chaplains and it will be wonderful.

Like the ones they ret conned in when they changed the Dark Angels colour scheme in second edition.

But GK have much deeper Fluff problems in terms of their role within the Imperium, than any of the above. The ret conned PA GK only make things worse, IMO.
You can make a strong fluff argument for anything, that's why it's called fluff and not background or history. You (by which I mean GW studio) can just change it as you/they go along.
Jervis has stated that a redone Daemonhunters codex will have Grey knights as its primary theme. There isn't the range of Grey Knights in the current codex to justify this. So if Jervis' words come to pass there will be new Grey Knight units, your vision of the fluff not withstanding.

Just like we did in Slaves to Darkness, it will indeed be wonderful.

This is quite disconcerting, just bought myself an inquisitor, a box of Grey Knights and the codex
I like the mishmash of forces thats on offer- gonna pick up all the grey knights then the plastic storm troopers when they are released

A mishmash of forces is all nice but a pure GK force will beat it any day (assuming it is not in the hands of a complete idiot) and if GW revamps the GK, your nice little Inquisatorial/GK/IG/SM allied medley will get taken apart.
and as George spiggot said, it will be nice, infact it will be more than nice. It will awesome on a scale never before imagined.

I regret making this thread . . . it has lost all purpose and direction. WHERE IS THE GLORIFYING OF THE TAU?
|
to understand how many orks it takes to screw in a lightbulb you must calculate the surface area of a standeard sized urinal, multiply that by 3 bajillion, calculate that in svedish half-pennies and convert that amount to japanese yen. or you could ask a Tau to screw in the bulb. |

cool it with the tau already if you have nothing to contribute to this than don't post meaningless comments like the one above. If you want to talk about tau start a thread on them.

I'd love it if they pumped up the DH, but GW seems to hate them(which is a shame, as the Grey Knight Terminators are some of the best looking miniatures GW has ever produced) for some reason. Probably because they don't sell, because their codex sucks.
The biggest issue I have with the codex is that it centers around the Inquisitors. That's nice and all, but you have to remember that the Inquisitors make up only a small part of the DH armies themselves. I'm not saying remove everything with inquisition in its name, but the Grey Knights need to be expanded. As it stands now, each Grey Knight is expected to do everything, and in the end, ends up being fairly mediocre for its points cost. The only one that ends up really showing their worth for their points, in my opinion, is the Grand Master.
