HBMC and the Stelek fella that writes the army lists both seem to be missing, they both liven up the boards like chillies on a pizza, where are they?

Well, Stelek is gone for good, so him you won't see.

On topic.
I ordered a big bunch of AI stuff (models and books) from Forgeworld. Majority arrived within 3 weeks and the rest the week after. All as promised by their website. No problems.
PS. I live in Denmark.

Maybe the bad image of FW is that we only hear about the bad customers... The good customers rarely comment, at least not so vocally. (except in this thread.)

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Well, I think that even if there were plenty of happy customers, how much hassle the people who have had bad experiences suffered makes a lot of people leery. We all have had bad shopping experiences, but some of the things with Forgeworld are simply ridiculous. Even if it's only 5% problem rate, the severity of the problem makes me (and a lot of others) much more cautious.

Even many of the "good" experiences aren't high quality compared to other, more professional retailers.

That's true of any retail service, really. People are more willing to talk about bad service(or extremely good) than standard or acceptable service.

He was perma-banned in November or December. If you miss him, he still posts on his blog.

Definitely. FW gets a bit more because it is expensive for it's niche (Value being more subjective... i don't think FW could ever get me to pay over $6/model for single-pose DKoK Guardsmen no matter how nice the sculpts look, but I guess someone is willing to do so. And I probably spend money freely on things others would find stupid...

But anyway, it seems like FW's quality control is lacking according to several people. I wonder if they've taken on too much work? Could the reports of delays/shipping problems be due to a lack of forecasting for holiday sales?

I've ordered from them once myself, and one of my friends has ordered from them twice.

My order had a few miscast pieces, and a miss-packed group of BFG thunderhawks. Saw on their website that they won't reply to emails, so I called them up - they were incredibly friendly, and sent me replacement pieces within the week. The thunderhawks took slightly longer, simply due to the fact that they sold out over christmas (when I placed my order). No questions asked, simply an apology for the miscasts and the mispack and that was it.

My friends first order also had some missing pieces - same story... called them up, got a replacement right quick.

All orders had express shipping, and were received in a week or less.

I have nothing but great things to say about Forgeworld, personally.

A new day, a new time zone.

I've ordered from FW twice. I placed a big order yesterday. For some reason, they couldn't get the transaction to go through and after a couple hours of bouncing e-mails, I gave them a different card, which worked fine.

They told me Weathertop would take 2 or 3 weeks, but the rest would come sooner. I got an email from UPS today, telling me that 'the rest' should arrive on Friday. Unfortunately, 'the rest' is being sent to the billing address I gave FW, not the shipping address. Hopefully weathertop will go where it is supposed to.

This happened to me friend when he used his debit card. His bank wouldn't clear the charges without him calling them because he was purchasing things outside of the country and they wanted to make sure it was actually him using his card.

I did call my bank to make sure that wasn't the issue. Something was simply awry.
