I believe it's stuck in limbo waiting for FW purchases to slow down, so GW can conclude there isn't much more money (and profit) to milk at that price point before moving it to a lower price point in plastic.

With the Pound at record lows, and Apoc still running strong, this could take a while.

I think I'm gonna go the Tater Stompa route. I don't care for the model. It looks way too much like Homer Simpson in a Mumu, Orky Style (of course that has it's own comedic merits!). I already have WAY too many bits, I just need a Mr. Potato Head. I would rather pay $90+ in parts for a custom job.

Its a nice kit overall in that the end result is pretty chunky and feels... solid and reliable despite (and I kid you not) about a zillion tiny little tubes and bits that go into making the chainsaw arm or the thin, finicky bits that the cannon arm consists of. Having said that, I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of variety you can achieve from the kit, pose vice. Especially the dumpy legs made me a little bit sad... And the casting job in some of the bits leaves you to mind the gaming table vcasting quality... looks good enough on tabletop but closer by leaves a lot to desire on the details front... but most of the eyesore business can be hidden away conveniently with all the additional glyph-plates and my favourite, the completely, hideously penetrated armour plate with metal buckling and all. I'd likely buy sprues of just those...

The grots and the commanding ork are really quite nice models even though they use many similar bits from other similar kits like the new Grot set and the crew of the battlewagon.

Also, there is actually a dedicated Mek Boy-head at least...

In addition, the rumoured complete compatibility with the Battlewagon is pretty much nonexcistant which was a shame.

Overall, it is a very imposing kit on the tabletop and fits the bill and the price just fine in my opinion and it is easy to construct and most all of the bits fit together very nicely. So outside some of the detailing being quite sad, the final product on the tabletop is very butch and brutal in appearance. Suffering a bit too heavily on the 'cut-n-paste'-disease that comes from GW using the same preprogrammed 'bits' in their computer generation... It does add to the scavenged look as you do end up recognicing many if not most of the used bits on it but it does raise the question that do they -really- only have the one fan in the entire span of the galaxy? I think the Adeptus Mechanicum needs to find another, new design and soon...

Other than that, as I stated, the actual, finalized kit is very imposing as long as you dont whinge about the details and the lack of poseability in the legs might be something of an issue if you plan on a huge Stompa swarm (And honestly, why are you -Not- planning one?) but with some usual Orkish inventiveness, that can be overcome without excessive problem.

Also, there are no bits to go over the blatant spots where the horns go in case you dont want any stinking Goff-bull references... but, once again, small detail-whinging...

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

It is interesting that it has one fully posable foot and another flatfoot 'stump' for the concealed leg. I can see a roaring bits trade in the detailed foot peices for those who want to repose their Stompa.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It looks like you can (with minimal modeling) make that chainsaw arm into 2 chainsaw arms. It has the proper details on both halves of it. But without seeing it in person yet i cant speak just yet I guess.
Im pretty sure the lifta droppa could be made easily from the forgeworld sentinals that are the dockworker ones from armageddon. Anyone remember those?
Worth a look I suppose.

ok, im glad GW finally made something worth buying for its price, but i still have the problem its the same as the monolith kit, no variation.
allthough, could be amusing to hack one up and see what can be done with it.
was hoping for a larger range of weps too.

Edit: forgot to say thanks for the pics, they are a pretty big help
so thanks

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
