Well I'm only a few hours in but I have to say that so far this is the game of the year for me. Simply stunning. The combat is flowing without being complex and the stealth is beautiful done. I could do Inverted take downs all day, is there anything more 'Batman' than that move?

People complain that the boss fights aren't hard, but look at who you're playing as. You're playing as batman and hes defeated these guys countless times I personnally enjoy the feeling of power I get when I take down a boss easily.
I also love the joker challanges on the PS3 version, some great takedowns there.

I just wish the challenge maps gave the joker a little bit more power. He's a glass cannon on those maps. Either that or I just suck at playing him

That's the great thing about being the Joker on his maps! Nasty fighter with his one shot gun, no detective mode and, of course, don't get hit. He is like 6'0" 165 soaking wet (or something close).

I'm loving it so far, I'm 45% complete (working my way to Killer Croc). The homage it pays to Metroid and Castlevania games is simply awesome, the amount of secrets and unlockables is staggering. Definitely the best game that has been released so far this year. I just can't wait for Brutal Legend in october!

I'm loving it as well. It's far from perfect, but damn, it's a great game. The next thing I have to do is get into the gardens, can anyone tell without spoilers how much there is left, secrets excluded. Just some basic time span, I want to write a review and I just wanna know how much longer it'll take. There are 3 things that bother me though: - at one point I actually got into a space I couldn't get out of. I fell into som sort of shallow elevator shaft or something and I couldn't get out because there was nothing in the room I could attach to. - I don't get to drive the Batmobile - I don't get to punch Superman in the face with a kryptonite ring. Apart from that, it's a fantastic game.

I think the "Gardens" is about 75% of the way through the game, maybe a tad more.

I just "beat" Harley, so Ivy is the next stop. If that is really already so far into the game, there are a lot of secrets still to be found.

Tried out the demo on the xbox last night, very impressed, smooth and comfortable play style and hanging upside down from a gargoyle directly behind a gun toting crim before dropping down silently to beat the 7 shades of crap out of him is too much fun.

Oh, I think it is pretty close to perfect. I love the combat, I love the gadgets, I love the exploration, I love the predator segments, I love the voices and dialogue, I love the setting, and I really like the story.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Not since Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare have I felt that a game was more than deserving of parting with £40. I love this game and have become totally hooked. Each time I sit down to play it I loose track of time completely. For instance the other night I sat down at 8.30pm thinking I'd only put in 30 mins in before tea, the next thing I know I look up at the clock and it was 23:50!!! Combat is simple to learn, but hard to master. The island is an exquisite vision of gothic style which is extremely enjoyable to explore. The voice acting is of the highest calibre (Kevin Conroy is Batman and Mark Hamil is genuinely disturbing at times). The character graphics are gorgeous. The story is excellently well written and none of the villians feel like they have been crowbared in there, they all fit the story/plot (this is particularly good news as with all the villians at Arkham the designers could have gone overboard and spoiled the game by having a massive mess of villians). All in all a top class game and if Modern Warfare 2 falls slightly short of expectations this could well be the game of 2009. I await a sequal with avid anticipation . I've always liked Batman, but never really been a fan. After playing this game I want to read all the comics and re-watch the recent two films again and again! Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, I also think a special mention should go to the patient interview audio tapes you find around the island. The only character I have all of them for is Zasaz (or however you spell his name) and the last one in his sequence was really good (in a scary way). I actually had chills down my spine when the last tape finished playing. Hopefully those of you who have heard this too will agree with me.

I think my favorite Patient Tapes were the Joker's and Riddler's.
Ridiculous.
Scarecrow's weren't too bad either.

I played the Demo and was completely impressed, although honestly I was not expecting too much.
Although, it bothered me that Batman can't jump.

Riddler: What begins with four legs, then goes to two legs, then ends with three legs?
Doctor: That's easy. A human. It starts on all fours as a baby, then moves to walking as an adult, then has a cane as it gets elderly.
Riddler: No, doctor. The answer is a baby. It crawls around on all fours, but it you cut its legs off it just flops around. You then give it a crutch to hobble around on.
Doctor: You're sick! How can you even joke about that?!
Riddler: Easy doctor. Its not MY baby!
Creepiest dialogue I've heard in a game in a LONG time.
Awesome game.

So, I'm done.
All in all, a great game, though it does have it's weaknesses. The fact that Batman can't really jump feels weird at some point. The movement relies to heavy on context-sensitivity and gadgets.
The character design is absolutly fantastic imo. Especially .
