I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Nidzilla plus the EVIL that is psychic choir on the tyrants and Zoeys. It screws over psychic armies, especially lash.
Psychic choir makes things a lot dicier with lash....

I really like the idea of covering an entire board edge to protect against stealers. a squad of thirty boys can cover a hole edge.
so what happens to out flankers when they roll a side that is completely covered?

I believe they still come in on that side, they just cant come in where they would run into guys. So they would just be farther up the field. And esp with orks running a conga line down a side that could make for a LOOOONG run to get to your fire base/objective.

Plasma guns and meltaguns fry Fexes and Tyrants, as do Obliterators. Lash also tends to mess with them, especially when it comes to synapse. Stealers are a bit deadlier with feeder tendrils, but still pretty much all non-rends will bounce.
Str 8 and above ignores FNP.
Thats the catch, you die like a normal marine~

And barbed stranglers are st8. Thats what you kill the plague marines with, or in the assault phase. I've found a choppy flyrant to be fairly mandatory in the current metagame. There are some really nasty units that he can top trump in assault, such as bikeseers (he chops the farseer out of the squad) and nob bikers (just not by himself). It's also much easier to dominate a far away objective through close combat due to the Ld modifiers. Venom cannons are also fairly sweet, especially against the likes of orc vehicles (open topped). --edit-- So if you want to slay the nidzilla, kill off the flyrant asap as it's pretty much the lists only mobility.

I take a different approach. I've recently been playing my pure GK's. I actually start w/the 3+ save big bugs first. Hitting them will all my normal firepower (Stormbolters, Psycannons, TL- HB's). I shoot those till they drop. Then I move up the chain. Normally my LR's start in on the 2+ save ones since I need the extra few turns of shooting to kill them since that is my only low AP weapons. Seems to work though. The little guns will on average take out 1-2 of the 3+ big bugs and the big guns can take out one of the heavy ones (assuming no cover). Just my thoughts. I kill the easy ones first basically
