It's funny, I thought that's what it was, but the more I looked, the less it looked like a part of a drop pod.. lol.. oh well, what can you do?

I notice on FW dread they have the weapon on torso instead of the close combat arm.

So is that better when weapons are destroyed? Like the FW would require 3 weapons to be destroyed, Right arm, Left arm, and torso mounted gun.

I'm always looking for some tricks.

No, because even in the FW rules, the Venerable Dreadnought has it listed as a Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon with built-in Storm Bolter. Model =/= Rules.
