I am not sure if this has been posted before but I did a search and it came up blank. So in case the hordes descend upon me in a great, smelly mass screaming that "this is already in another post" at least I tried.

I found this on the Oz site...a conversion using the metal Venerable dreadnought into a Dark Angels monster with a proper closed Powerfist! Would this be considered rumour or conversion topic?

Conversion I say.

Pretty tin box however.

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

IIRC, the UK and US sites had this up when it was originally done around the time of the DA Codex a couple years ago.

Everytime I look at that model, I think of the Forgeworld MkIV Dreadnought and weep. I need a hug.

.... Im pretty sure thats a conversion, cause if it was studio painted they would have done it bone white as a ven dread serves with the Deathwing.

This reminds me that the GW Venerable Dreadnought is in fact a piece of crap and whatever difficulties you encounter buying one from Forgeworld (especially the Chaplain version) are well worth it when compared to this...thing.

I don't know. It's on the Oz site as a "Ravenwing" Dread.

Are Mortis types approved or still IA?

Forever alone

The GW Oz site hasn't been updated in a couple of years.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

It is most certainly a conversion. If you continue to click through the "article", it details how they made it and what bitz they used.

Actually, it's pretty good as it still has a lot of the cool modeling articles that have been taken down on the US and UK websites. Do a little exploring and you'll find some cool stuff there.

No it's a good thing! Because GWOZ hasn't been upgraded to that new sucktacular layout that everyone else has, it loads in about 3 seconds. If you ever need to look up a price, the GWOZ website's the best. No flash menues and waiting a year for anything to load.

Seconded. To me it's the lay-out and not load time that grinds my gears, but still.

To me it was the culling of most of the useful content and the killing of specialist-games as a separate site.

Well GWOZ never had any actual content, so it's no loss there.

I keep looking at the model and wondering why a dreadnaught wants to snowboard (or skateboard) {take your pick}... that part he is standing on just looks stupid.

It's supposed to be a drop pod door. I never liked that bit of an otherwise great conversion. There are base decorations and there are base decorations. That's neither.

(THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK)

I love the look of their ravenwing conversion. Dreads are too top heavy and boxy for me. By lengthening the arms and giving them better leg flexibility they look much more dangerous.

SoCal, USA!

I personally can't stand the Mk.IV design. All I can think is "Quato". It's not like the head is on his chest - it's sitting on his gut.

I'm much happier with the regular dread and flat sarcophagus design.

But maybe if the head were small and situated higher, that could help.

Don't forget that the Mk.IV design is prone to possession!

Of course, that too...

Perhaps the next edition of CSM will have venerable random Dreads.

Please share an image with us then. Unless you are referring to the Forge World variant.
