Get in good with the old fogies and get into there will, then collect when they croak and the 'invest' in as much GW product as you can. I will be laughing from the warp..
Seriously though, 54 hours a week for such easy work is a cakewalk. Just be sure to save some as mentioned above. You ideally want to save up 6 months of your expendatures before you start spending money on luxuries, like warhammer.

What I'm thinking of doing is starting to get my 8 month cushion up. I hear a lot of adults do that in case they get laid off and are found without work for awhile. That will never happen to me though considering my field and level of experience/energy/age, I have a lot on my side.

In all seriousness, those shots are just TOO easy.
Sorry, it's like when the wife leaves a cake on the kitchen counter.. I just can't help but do what I know I shouldn't..
Yeah, mom was pissed when dad and I ate all the lemon square before she even finished them, much less got one. gak, I guess we now know where that puts me.
Let us know how it's working typeline. It'll be interesting to see if you can resist the Dark Side of spending.

I've worked similar jobs. For me, the hours were lousy, but it was having a 45minute to 1 hour commute each way that made the job miserable. If you are used to having a pretty rich social life, it's going to suffer.
Crappy jobs are like long distance relationships: if there is an end in sight, you can put up with almost anything for a short term.

I would suggest work for sure. Even if you are young.
I started getting trained at 11 ish, by 14 im ready to work though legally im still not allowed to.
But i must tell you, its actually pretty cool. Getting to deal with so much new situations, new responsibilities, experience and such.
Extra money is always nice, meeting new people etc etc.

I've worked 50+ hours per week for years. 60+, even 70+ isn't uncommon for a lot of professionals.
In today's jub market, I think it makes good sense to get the most experience and working hours that you can, when you can.

I work close to a 50 hour week for about $500 AUD... less than half the average wage in Aus. I'm looking for night work to put on top of that AND four university units.
For $2000 US I'd do a fair bit.

Not sure how demanding the work is though - I've had some physically and/or mentally demanding jobs that I couldn't work 40 hours a week much less 54, and others where I could have done 80 and been fine if the money was right.
Not sure it's worth it for so little money, but at 19 it's decent I guess. Not sure where you live which obviously helps determine how good the money is. You'd know better than I would.
What is this short period stuff? I've worked 60+ since before many of you youngins were born.

I used to do that and more when I was young. It's easy in your 20s and starts getting tougher in your 30s.
In your 40s, even if your body and mind aren't protesting your wife and children will be.

Suck it up and work it.
54 hours a week is nothing. Put the money aside, as you're studying for the LPN, I'm assuming you've got tuition to pay at some point.
You'll graduate your program and have you will have resume experience in a related field. That will position you better than most of the other entry level schlubs you'll be competing against. A little work now will pay off a great deal in the long run.

I'm in my 50s and I put in up to 60 hours a week if necessary. If you want the job then you have to do the work.

At 19 (a massive 3 years ago) I worked for 60 hour weeks for two months as a shlepper for a consignment furniture store. The work was hard, but ultimately it did not burn me out. One piece of advice is consider the amount of hours you will work per day. I had a desk job where I only had to work 45 hours a week, but I had to pull 3 15 hour days- that is more the sort of thing that I think burns people out.

The longest amount of time i've spent doing work related , was during summer when i was 14.
The work itself was only 2 hours ( 1 hour each , 2 classes to teach )
but it also combined life guard training , rescue drills.
Seperated into 4 hour on dry land , 4 hours near water ( rescue simulations)
10 hours a day, 5 days a week. I was pretty much... wake up, eat , get ready ,
go to the pool , come home, eat dinner , fall dead on the bed.
