The omly thing I dont like is that its made from quite soft plastic , and not easy to glue to. I put the plasticard on with poly cement which is ok , and the rudder on with superglue and the jet exhaust with "no nails". Its a bit of trial and error as to which will be best.

I'm gonna pop into my local poundland this weekend and see if i can get a couple !

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Its slow progress, work , kids , playing in bands and sleeping just seem to get in the way. And big up the v dub posse in the area!

The work continues a bit faster than usual . I've got a little hobby shed , where I do my thing. My wife has got a shed where she keeps stuff to sell on ebay. She always takes care to lock her shed , you can never be to carefull. So on saturday morning she was taking the kids swiming . She popped her head into my hobby shed to remind me to put up a shelf for here . When she finished she closed the door to my shed , and locked it!. So I was locked in for over two hours untill she came back. This meant I couldn't put up the shelf or go to town to pick up a mic for the nights gig. But it did mean I could work on my fighta. So I added more panels and bits , then rivets and more rivets and some rivets.

And I could take no more so I've primed it and started undercoating. I think it might work.

I love what you're doing but, for a Fighta... you're way too small.
Would probably be better as a custom Deffkopta.

Looks GREAT, though.

I'm quite happy with the size. I always liked the german early jet , the Komet which was very small. Just an engine with wings.

Excellent work; really like how you've worked this up from the stock toy. Looking forward to seeing it completed in all its glory.

Well I play guitar and sing in a pub rock band ( myspace.com/the_stand_rock ) and bass in a contempory irish folk band ( look for " peel your own spuds" on you tube and myspace ).

"The Stand?"
Sorry for the OT, but I can't help it.

When I was in high School in the 80's, some of my classmates had a top 40 band called "The Stand."

Weird.

Anyway, just to reiterate, I really DO like the looks of it. It's making me think I should buy a toy at a garage sale this summer and LOOT it.

Great, you can hardly see the original toy!

Randomly bolted on metal panels... yeah!
Makes it seem patched up. Real Orky IMHO...

Don't go there. Mistakes were made , now is not the time for finger pointing or recriminations. I just wish she'd stop laughing about it so much.
The painting continues , I'm making slow progress . It was looking ok , then I black washed it and it looked rubbish , so I,m wrestling with it at the moment.

Hey!

I'd like to take you up on this very generous offer, if you're still willing!

We don't have to use eBay either, as I'm OK with the 'honor system' (and PayPal, I suppose) to carry the day.

Let me know!

And thanks!

Most importantly: I like it.
Second most importantly: I was wrong re: Deffkopta. it's too big for that.

Now, those aside. I only have 2 problems with it. First, I think your dags would look better black & white than red (looks orangish) and yellow.

Second: it's too clean.

I'd love to see oil leaks from panels near the "worky bits," & a lot of chipping and scarring on the entire thing (especially the added panels). There should be plenty of metal showing through the paint jobs.

Oh... and I'd like to see more color diversity in your added panels, too. Like they were taken from various SM or IG tanks and the like.

I wanted yellow/red to be more speed freak , I've got lots of goff boys with black and white . Yeh at the moment its got the fresh off the forecourt look , and I usually add UM blue and tau colours to panels to needle my fellow players . Also smoke trails from the guns and jet engine , leaks from mechanikal parts , I'm all over it. So one more painting session. I think I'll start on the base first though. With the base done I can use it in a game " as is " and grunge it up " as and when". Cheers for the comments.
