Man, this is the second painting contest I want to enter this month! And of course, it is completely different from the other. And of course, I absolutely MUST do this one and try out an idea I had! Curse you and your brilliant efforts at making me paint!

By the by, are multiple entries ok on this one?

Thanks, Noise! I really do try to help my fellow gamers with their win-loss records. I feel that I might just be able to help out in this contest as well.

Noise, I believe LoTR horses are based on 40mm rounds.

Wehrkind, I'm going to keep submissions One per User.

nidsmaster, only a single model should be in your final submission. bits and pieces of other models are ok, with final decision being in the hands of the judges on how much is over the line. To be safe, I'd keep it to just bits and pieces and not get too close to having an entire other model on the base. This is a singles comp, not a Duel comp afterall. Though having a competition in the future for a duel would be kinda neat ^_-. So in short, no second models.

To keep things on an even keel. Real prize support means more heavily regulated voting style.

Sounds fair. Out of interest, will the amount of votes the top 5 get be considered by the judges?

Looking forward to this one, got some ideas flowing.

I dunno...

So... Angry...

Just discovered the base that I have is 60mm...

40mm is too small for all the details I want!

I DON'T HAVE ANY 50MM!

Curse the rules! CURSE THEM!

Also, CURSE DREADNOUGHT BASES AND THEIR MISLEADING SIZES!

:L unlucky man, well iv got 2 possible models to use, started both of em. 1 is simple, which doesnt really involve any converting. And the other involves quite alot of work to look good, but it'll look crap knowing me

Hope people are working on their models, mine is well underway and looking pretty cool so far

I like these little challenges, helps to break up the monotony of painting armies and what not.

I had briefly thought of modelling my Warhound with one toe on a 40mm base, but settled on something smaller

I knew those guys looked like Marine Raiders, so I was able to chase down the picture caption:

Hey Grey_Death,

What if one of the models you'd like to use was shown a long time ago, would they still count?

Thanks,

hey grey_death,

Does the base have to be a GW base or could we custom make one... I didn't have any 50MM bases laying around, so I cut a 50mm * 50mm square of plasticard and put greenstuff on top of it...

I guess If I have to use a GW base I can find one and glue everything on top of it. Let's hope it doesn't come to that

The rules state:

"Based on a single square, round, or hex base. 50mm or smaller accepted."

There is nothing at all about needing to use a particular company's base. You can most certainly use any type of base as long as it fits within the specified size.
