I agree, the Knight of Flowers is not my favorite, and Rattleshirt would definitely fit in nicely in a Chaos army.
I like Jon Snow though (probably my favorite character model they have released so far), and the two hedge knight greens look nice, I think.
I'm definitely interested in seeing Gregor Clegane and Oberyn Martell. Robb Stark and the two more Lannister guards could be very nice too, whenever they get finished.

I just thought of something. Since this is is a pre-Blackwater Tyrion model, I hope they do an armored version of him (hopefully with an axe or something!) in a later wave.
I also wonder if Dark Sword is planning on doing any mounted models, or any direwolves or that sort of thing. They definitely have a lot of creative options to work with. They could even do a giant!
Personally, I'd really like to see some of the various mercenary companies, like the Storm Crows, Second Sons, Golden Company, Unsullied, etc. some minis from the various assassin guilds could be cool too, like the Sorrowful Men or the Faceless Men (Jaqen H'Ghar might be a good choice for one of the Faceless Men).

The current Hound model is alright, but not my favorite. He's got like three different head and helmet options, though. I like the closed helmet, personally.

I am so sorry...
Yeah, I love how they have multiple assassin guilds who all have their own styles and quirks. The Sorrowful Men aren't as expensive as the Faceless Men though.
Oh, and when it comes to mercenary companies, how could I forget the Brave Companions....those "Bloody Mummers" are vicious.

There is a helmetless version of the Hound, I think. And his face looks pretty messed up.
Rainbow Cloaks would be cool, as would a complete set of the Kingsguard. Of course, I'm not sure who all they'd choose for it, since it's membership has been pretty fluid since the start of the first book.
I'd definitely like to see Eddard Stark too, preferably with his greatsword Ice (but not yelling or or pointing or anything like that).

Nah, we're not thread jacking really, I mean we're still talking about Dark Sword miniatures. I think it's great to see some more non- GW stuff getting some attention on Dakka.

Besides, I don't think anyone else is reading this thread. We're the law 'round this here territory, pardner!

Um, an Eddard Stark mini-diorama would be cool though.
Oh, and you know who else they ought to make a mini for! Thoros of Myr! The Red Priest! That would rule!

By the by, I know Hordini mentioned he reads the Not-a-blog. What did you guys think of GRRM's post a few days ago about people who badger him about DWD? He's an interesting writer, but I have to admit, I don't always like him as a person.

I'd be insterested in a Barristan Selmy model, both from the beginning (all these models seem to be from the first book, except maybe Jon) and as he is in a Storm of Swords.
It's difficult discussing this without giving up spoilers.

Exactly. That one scene from Game of Throne with John seals it for me. GRRM planned it from the get go.

I think that as an artist, he's entitled to defending himself, especially if some of his detractors have made the sorts of out of line comments to him that he implies in that one blog post. While I'm eagerly awaiting his next book, and it can be disappointing sometimes that it takes so long, the bottom line is, good work takes time, and it's usually not good to rush art. Most of the artists (writers, musicians, etc.) that I enjoy the most take forever to release new books, new albums, etc. As long as the work measures up when it is finally finished, I have no problem. Now, if it takes years to write a new book or release a new album and it ends up being total crap, then I start to wonder why it took so long. So far, Martin has not disappointed me. As far as I'm concerned he can take the time he needs to produce an excellent book.
He's definitely got some pretty vocal political views that he brings up from time to time, and I don't agree with all of them, but I'd hardly say it's enough for me to not like him or anything. Also, I've never met the guy (although I would certainly like to), and I try not to avoid forming too strong of opinions about people I haven't even met yet. He writes a damn good fantasy novel. That's good enough for me.
Oh, and I thought of another miniature I definitely want to see, too. Bronn, Tyrion's favorite sellsword! He's one of my favorite supporting characters.

It's on Jon's trip north to the Wall, when Tyrion went with them. Tyrion has seperated himself from the group and is drinking wine and reading, and Jon and Ghost come across them. It starts of somewhat hostilely, IIRC, but Jon and Tyrion begin to see eye to eye. Tyrion sees Jon's hurt at being a bastard, and Tyrion begins to compare his childhood to Jon's. Tyrion begins to discuss his childhood fantasies of burning Casterly Rock down on a dragon. It's heavy foreshadowing, in my mind.

Hordini wrote:I heard at Origins several years ago that there was supposed to be a skirmish type miniatures game released based on a Song of Ice and Fire, with miniatures by Testor. I even saw some of the minis (they were Night's Watch and Wildlings, I believe), and they were decent.
However, the license agreement with Testor ran out and they hadn't really done anything with it (I think they had maybe one release), and Dark Sword picked up the minis license and starting doing this stuff. It looks like they'll be doing the minis for awhile, but so far there's no word of a new game, and I highly doubt whatever Testor was working on would get resurrected.
George R. R. Martin seems to really like minis though, so if there was a game in the works he'd probably post about it on his blog as soon as he was able to.
A guy I know who worked for Testors, and with GRRM for the minis game, said that Testors decided that they were a Paint company, and decided to let their license go.
He showed us one of the tests for the Jon Snow mini. It looked pretty close to the Darksword one, so maybe they bought the sculpts from Testors. It seemed like they didn't have an infrastructure in place for designing and promoting a game, so called it a day, rather than investing in it.
Anybody remember 100kingdoms ( IIRC), it was a fantasy wargame that was packaged with Testors paint, I don't remember if they owned it or not, but it seemed to have died fairly quickly as well.

I haven't read the rules, and don't know if it's supposed to be used with minis, but Green Ronin ( http://www.greenronin.com/) has just released the Song of Ice and Fire RPG a couple of weeks ago. I'd be interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on it if they've bought it.
