That's a pretty cool scratchbuild, I have to say. Well done on taking the time and effort to build it.
But I still have to say that it looks like a Baneblade-class vehicle. Have you looked at the Shadowsword rules on the GW site? If you slap a pair of plasma cannon on that one, the armament would be pretty much identical. Add another +100 pts for the plasma and the twinlinking of the lascannon, and i doubt anyone would have any objections.

I'm sure we'd much more appreciate it if you put some more time and effort into thinking it out rationally instead of throwing a hissy because people don't like your shoebox *ahem* tank.

He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags. |

Actually i got a bit of fluff in this;
Ok so its true that up until now ( i.e the 41st millennium) Nids and Chaos space marines/ traitor guard haven't seen much action in the galaxy, but Tyrinids were apparently werecreate by the Necrons/Necrotyr to defeat ''chaos'' originally back during the war of the old ones. And they did it quite convincingly. Which left them with a problem, a big nasty hungry army that could not be control/destroy. So, They created beacon that attracted them, shot it out of the galactic plan and they followed. It went into another galaxy and crashed, they came, they saw, they devoured and now they are moving out for the galaxy in all direction and some have found their way back.
Now its present day and though the current 'generation' of minions haven't seen/heard of or really encountered Tyrinids that much (yet) I'm pretty sure the gods of chaos probably still remember and they probably got the forge worlds(remember half of the adaptus went with them) of chaos to build this this to help defeat their age old enemies.
Hmmm the plot thickens like so much spilt blood
And come on guys he's having enough troubles with the legit complaints and information without calling his model, which he's worked so hard on, a shoebox. I mean that's a little harsh.
SonsofLoki, if this is getting to much for you just walk away, delete this thread from subscribed list and walk away. There's no shame in that and you can start a new thread with a different topic and forget all about this.

Yeah, I don't know about this either, and I have read my codex pretty thoroughly...it DOES however say that the Old Ones helped/created races to help fight the Necrontyr and the C'tan, so maybe that's where they're from....

There is no one spot. it was brought o my attention by a games workshop staffer, there was something he had in writing that i unfortunately did not have the money to buy at the time that in a slightly run about way said it, and i said yeah I'm not really buying the story here, so he pointed out the circumstantial evidence as well.
Necrons and more to the point C'tan cannot go into the warp or touch the warp and in fact have some aversion to it it (this is why the Eldar hid the nightbringers most powerful star ship in the warp so that he could not retrieve it with ease).
The Tyrinids are probably the most (naturally) anti chaos race currently discovered, they have the biggest known psycher network in existence( one plinter fleet has more power that the every psycher in the Imperium stuck on one planet), so powerful that for 100s of light years ahead of their wake it disrupts telepathic communications and even penetrates the warp etc. Yet as pointed out by the codex, not even a sniff of demons attracted to this, almost as if they had been driven away.....
There is more....but that's for another thread

So, because Necron can't go into the Warp they obviously created the Tyranids? I'm sorry, but that's entirely circumstancial. The Tau also don't really interface with the Warp either. The Eldar breed slowly and look kinda like humans. The Eldar created humanity to repopulate with.

Um.... no i didn't actually put it that way (are you a politician? Cause you seem to grab one section and run with it) What i said was a GAMES WORKSHOP STAFF MEMBER told me the the Necrons created the Tyranids ( and when he told me i had about the same reaction as you, just more polite ( showing me a section in a book that hinted to it) keep in mind this is back in 2004!! and then proceeded to walk me through the circumstantial evidence (yes i actually said this was circumstantial, in the first line, so sorry you can't claim that it was you opinion first).
and i left it at that because of to reasons
1) this is someones painting forum, not the 'Did necrons create the Nids' forum
and
2) Well frankly i didn't have the info easily to hand, and while recovering from a serious health condition didn't want to start digging the the mountains of materials to find the snippets.
Oh and Tau have no problems with the warp as such, the do not have the technology to go in it .....yet. They also apparently have a resistance to being possessed, but there has been mention of other races that can do that, Eldar, Necrotyr, just a few. I know this was part of your snide comments to through doubt on my post with sarcasm by it had to be clarified.
Now i'm sorry if the whole necrons created nids some how offended you but next time unless the person has actually done something, or said something directly to you, in someway personally insulting you/your army(as in real army not just global) Please keep your post more respectful to others ( i mean the respect for a fellow gamer/human and drop the attitude).

Actually, the Tau hardly register in the Warp, it's more then not just having the tech. They actually have the ability to jump into the Warp for short periods, but they don't have the Navigators needed for safe, long jumps.
Having a GW employee say it means absolutely nothing. I'm sorry if you really are sick, but that doesn't mean you can just make unsupported claims.

Regarding the claim of circumstantial evidence that 'nids were created by the Necrons/C'tan, to borrow from a certain computer game, "screenshot or it didn't happen". All the published 'nid fluff points to them being external to this galaxy. If you have something to support your claim, tell us a book/page number so we can see for ourselves what it's all about. For all we know, you're taking things way out of context. Or you may be on to something. Without being able to look at what you're looking at, we'll never know.
Also, nobody cares what a "staff member" says as they have no greater insight into anything than you or I do. Their opinions hold no more weight with the gaming community than the guy working at Walmart or Toys R Us.

True they don't have the navigation tech for navigation yet, but i didn't hear that they had the tech for small jumps either, Whats that in?
You "both" are completely right about games-workshop staff not being reliable hence (Like i said in the first post) i didn't believe him. Alas you are right i do not have that original book to point to. I know that without looking ( as i said in the original post i could not afford it at the time). I'll see what i can dig up in the mean time the next time someones going in the direction of the nearest games-workshop. Until then it will have to stay as you say, 'unsupported claims'
Please ignore my feeble ramblings.
(oh and rusty knight i am sick, i'm still recovering from my third heart attack at the age of 26)
once again i apologize for offending everyone with my scraps of info that i placed on this particular thread to help someone with their fluff.

I thought it was in the Tau Codex, here's a Lexicanum link with it- http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tau#Tau_and_the_Warp . Do any of the races use technology to navigate the Warp? I thought they all used psykers (which is why the Tau can't do it).

Hmmm true and true, but you still need the technology to interface the psycher with the ship, and i'm sure lack of psykers aren't going to stop tau from developing some other form of navigation.
eventually.

I just played against a modded version of this. Against 1500pts of my marines.
It killed 1000pts of them but only from the explosion caused from me distroying it.
I would say it needs that explosion changed and with the other changes you have already made it will be about right in apoc games.
