Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'd love to get more stuff up, but work's been hell lately. (I've been considering my 60 hrs/week a "light work load" here lately). My next goals are to finish a group of 5 rat ogres for my Skaven army. Then I intend to assemble, convert and paint my IG's command squad who'll consist of 4 plasmagunners, an officer with a plasma pistol, a radio/telephone operator with a massive comm suite (represents an Astropath) and a portable electronics and information warfare suite (represents an Officer of the Fleet) along with a Chimera with two heavy flamers. But, there's no telling how long that will take

Wow, it's been a LONG time since I've had the free time to do any painting, much less post an update. But anyways, here's a series of pics I've taken of my special weapons and command elements.
The first set of pictures are my Information Warfare Suite (acts as an Officer of the Fleet), my Company RTO (acts as an Astropath) along with my XO with basic laspistol and chainsword and the CO with a plasma pistol and skull-servo staff that serves as both a sign of his rank and as a periscope to peep over and around cover to aid in command decisions.

This set is of my plasma gunners, who will accompany the IWS, RTO and CO.

This final set are my melta gunners who form my XO's squad as well as part of a Veteran Squad.

I wouldn't say they're that great, but I try. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm often too critical of my painting skills, so it's good to hear someone praise them like that.

I like what you did with the plasma guns scott

Yeah, they're a simple conversion using a standard plasmagun and a CSM Berserker plasma pistol. I liked the look, makes them seem more cobbled together.. like a weapon that really could have some critical failure and bath it's user in excessive amounts of heat and radiation.

Well, I FINALLY finished assembling the vehicles for my army. I know looking at gray plastic isn't very exciting, but I put a lot of time and effort into magnetizing all of my vehicles' weapon options and came up with a nifty conversion for my Vendettas. Anyways, here's what I have:
First the group shot: 2 Vendettas, 3 Leman Russ variants, 2 Hellhound variants and a Chimera

Next shot shows the nifty chin guns I made from old Predator TL-lascannon turrets. Being magnetized, they even swivel

My 3 Russes: a Demolisher, a Vanquisher(with Pask commanding) and an Executioner, all with plasma cannons and lascannons. But the options can be switched out so I can scale my army's points up and down.

A close up shot of my Tank Commander Pask conversion

My 2 Hellhounds currently equipped as Devil Dogs with Heavy Flamers, which I believe will be my most common load out for them

My Company Command's Chimera, which is equipped with dual Heavy Flamers.

And lastly a pointless picture of my dog who was staring at me the entire time with a look on his face that made me feel he was questioning my sanity..

Here's another installation of my very infrequently updated hobby log. In this one, I have a few pics I took of my attempt to create a Hellpit Abomination out of a spare Rat Ogre, two Cold Ones and a mess of OK and Skaven bits. Without further a due, here's my Hellpit Abomination:

The black and red IG were for a friend's IG army. When I painted them he told me "no camo" so I came up with that pattern.
The heavy weapons drones for my IG were made from a simple plasticard chassis with the treads coming from the older IG plastic kits. The rest are all bits from the heavy weapon's sprue and a hacked up vox caster pack. I'm really proud of them because they look good and they're truly unique to my army, but they're relatively simple in design.

So, I've been waiting to update this until I had something interesting to post. I've got tons of Guardsmen all painted up, but they all look like what I've already uploaded, so here's a group of Hormagaunts and a Genestealer painted in my test scheme for Hive Fleet Kraken. So, what do the Dakkanauts think? It's a simple coat of Mechrite Red and Deneb Stone for the bodies, with Royal Blue on the tongues and Codex Grey on the talons all rounded off with a liberal application of Badab Black.

BTW, ignore the timestamp, it's horribly inaccurate

Here's a quick update of my 'nids.
First up is my latest carnifex. It also happens to be the first one I got to build from scratch instead. I went with a "hey guys, over here" look with him:

Here's him with his partners in crime:

My Swarmlord:

And here's the painted portion of my force so far:

And yes.. I still have a LOT of basing still to do.. but things are coming along quite nicely.

So, I just finished a Tervigon and a Trygon Prime. I tried to get creative with the basing with these. Let me know what you think:
