Thanks. The idea was it's a bit blockish/inorganic looking to show the "Iron" side. Maybe I could have made it segmented? It will be pretty clear when you see the amount of armor in the force, though.

darkkt wrote:The DP - I know the tongue is to indicate that its alpha legion (snakey), but when its just 'jutting' out in a straight line, it looks a little comical/cartoony. I think the tongue should 'loll' out of its mouth, like a dogs.

I will be very interested in seeing how you paint this DP - Ive just finished painting my most recent alpha legion chosen melta model (Im a painfully slow painter) - Im going to try and post some pics tonight.

Thanks for the suggestion on the tongue. I was thinking of it being out like a snake when it is "smelling." The thing that bothers me is the thickness. Had I made it loll I could have sculpted it with GS and made it thinner because it would be supported.

Checked out your gallery, but it looked like the painted images are not up yet. The scales looked good.

Looking pretty good so far! I like the rats for lesser daemons especially. I always thought flying squid would make for amusing ones too...

Appreciate the feedback guys. Can't wait to finish up Mortis, but there's a lot to do first. Last night I got the Traitor Baneblade almost finished. Should be able to finish tomorrow night and I owe you guys some pics of the new stuff I've built. Tonight was the Dark Heresy part of the campaign so I was busy GMing.

Traitor baneblade completed! This one took a while to build, convert and distress.

We had our first campaign games tonight - a chaos win and a loyalist win. Really, really close, fun and memorable. Can't wait for the next ones.

Thanks - the shrine had to go of course. The alternative cannon made great fodder for a turbo-charged chaos motor.

Sweet log Scarab, everything is very impressively built, and I know paint will only amp it up. The bases do deserve special commendation, nice use of the chemical plant set

Digging the brass bits on the baneblade too, cool touches. Is that a GW bit that you used to replace the shrine? I may have to do similar when I finally enter the superheavy market ...

QFT, and if I didn't have sexy multi-breasted demonettes to sub in I'd have been all over the squid swarms long ago

Well, I was planning to just do the bases with SW Grey drybrushed with white, but now I am inspired to try some of this other stuff! Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions.

Gretar, she really did; she kicks butt! She won a 20 person WHFB RT tournament too.

Thanks for the kind words - nice to hear from you. The bits are actually the shorter ranger alternative cannon barrel.

Thats the Artemis inquisitor model your using for the conversion right?

Yes - Mortis is based on him.

Much newer defilers. What a major pain these things are to assemble. Hate the original tiny heads and decided to try the terminator heads instead. Still deciding if I am satisfied. Think so.

I am going to use the super cool dudes as Heralds of Nurgle for the Daemon portion of my army. I think the models fit the role pretty well.

How easy is it to convert that Artemis model?

I'd be interested in doing something for a Khorne/WE based DP

He has quite a bit of scroll work and so on to dremel off. For me, the rough surface left behind was a desired effect. For some looks it would need repair, which could be a pain. Need to find a head too - defiler or something? He's about the same size and the standard DP model, so it works pretty well.

Cheers for the bit ID Scarab, will keep that in mind when I get around to my own big bad blaster ...

Nice oblits so far, though I'm sad because I didn't think to chop the rebar (?!) off my newest ones back, and will have to go do that when I get home today. Helps give even more of a hunched-over powerhouse look.
