It looks like you are painting up the gold directly over the black primer.
I personally perfer a buildup of a 50% Scorched Brown/50% Gold base followed by a Dark Brown Wash as my starting foundation. Then apply a gold midtone, followed by highlights.
The head looks good.

This is a really good idea! I will try it at the next mini.

My Plans, puuuh... i have no idea, but i want to create a real unique army. My first Idea was the first chapter, the veteran company....

Just the black basecoat painted with brazen brass... then highlighted with shining gold an fine lines chainmail!

they look really nice.
my only beef is the first guy who has a serious 5 o'clock shadow while the top of his head is shaved absolutely perfectly smooth. I'd be left to conclude that he strode into combat at the last minute, having been interrupted in his shaving

Hey Guys, i have the fever back to mage some work for Hammers of Dorn.
A lil´ single Update für getting back to life in this forum!
I have modified the standard Space Marines with a few pieces of GS.
The Helmet, the armor, the legs and the shoulder pads are customized. what do you think?
its my first sirious work with GS.
