Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Automatic weapons are illegal in the U.S. without a special permit. Pump-action and semi-automatic weapons are perfectly legitimate hunting weapons.

I didn't want this thread to be about gun control. I made an off-hand comment about America's poor gun control. It wasn't aimed at you or anyone else.
If Ghost had an issue with it, he could have said something about it rather than getting angry at me.

WHAT THE  JUST HAPPENED?
I thought we were discussing sport shooting and the OP was cogitating what firearms to do therein. How did that go rocketing into gun control, massacres, etc?
For the record, worst shooting event since Pancho Villa in Texas was a guy with a bolt action rifle in the UT tower. Civvies came out with their own bolt actions to pin him down while the police stormed the building.
Jeez Louise and people wonder why I am a crotechty old man...
