Well he obviously is the superior choice to a 65pt SWS (demo + 2 flamers) since he pops up anywhere and at BS5 is actually accurate with the demo.

The question is, can you make him work in KP missions? That is to say, is he a liability 1/3 of the time?

Yes, you can hide him in KP missions, but hiding a 65pt unit is not really helping you win.

Would you be better off taking a Griffion?

The eye of terror.

If you trade one KP to destroy/cripple a valuable enemy unit you hinder your opponent's ability to get KPs from you as well.

A lot of people seem to think that having a large number of KPs in your army is automatically a hindrance in KP missions, and while there is some truth to that, you win KPs by getting more KPs than your opponent does, not by having less KPs for your opponent to get.

I play Eldar and CSM, and if for 65 points I could get the same character, I would take him every time I was writing a list to win.

Why did the berzerker cross the road?

Agreed - he will most of the time blow the heck out of an enemy tough squad. Oblits ripping you up? Marbo nearby and watch him pray to make all though ID-saving 5+ invulnerables. Got a problem with some troops? Kill them with a sniper and go for the pin.

He's 65pts of utter win. What else are your elite slots being used for?

Marbo has another use, besides showing up and ravaging support units: he can can help stop a bum rush. There's a point in most games where the IG player is facing a huge combi-charge, with multiple enemy units finally about to crash the lines. If Marbo can show up and demo charge a 5 man tactical squad down to even 2, that helps a lot. It also gains a KP.

Marbo can also be supported, meaning that he doesn't have to show up alone in the middle of the enemy. In a KP mission he can show up to strengthen a flank.

I would get used to seeing him in IG armies though. He's just that good.
