Not, better than T2 by a long shot. I liked T3 better but thats a personal thing. I give it a solid OK. 6.5 out of 10 Chaos Marks.

Oh and warpcrafter the Director can't buy a vowel. His name is McG, He just doesn't know what a vowel is :(

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

Ok saw TS last night.
My thoughts:
The Good: Organization of the Resistance. Though humanity has been getting their butts kicked you feel like they have a fighting chance. They still have air support (A-10 Warthog, my personaly favorite military aircraft), ground troops are well armed and appear to know their enemy.
Spoiler:
Resistance command has a mobile base in an old Submarine, too bad they get killed off in the end
The special effects and sound effects are awesome. I love the little details like the sounds of the various terminator models and their weapons (lethal and non-lethal). The dark settings of a burned up LA and Skynet command spots seem appropriate for the times.
The Bad: Cliches (namely "I'll be back, he'll be back, we'll be back, etc...") are used often and sometimes too hamfistedly. PG-13 restricted the movie more than making it more accessible to the potential audience. I also felt there were too many characters invested in the story. I think that by cutting the cast down by half would have given the film a view of humanity that is in decline. The also carry over story of Marcus created a storyline that sinks up too well. From reading a synopsis of the movie (before it was released) led me to believe that someone/somebody in the future was throwing off the timeline of the original movies. This is explained in the end, but it felt too convenient.
The Ugly: Why are orphans and/or teens featured so heavily in movies like this? I get the whole "children of the future" thing, but at some point I figured the kids would have been captured or killed. Felt like the kids from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.
Spoiler:
How do two kids create Terminator boobie-traps?
. If you are fan of T3 then you will like this film
Spoiler:
the idea that the future cannot be changed (i.e. you can't kill somebody if they have an effect on the future)
. If you didn't dig T3 than the ending in TS will leave you hanging in the wind. Another beef I had was with the babes in the flick. Now I like the ladies, but nearly every female lead had great skin and it looked like their hair was just fixed. It's a death filled future. When do you find time for makeup and hair. I'm probably splitting hairs at this point (kind of intentional pun).

Overall, an ok film. I will go see it again now that I know what to expect, but in the long run it will be viewed as an extention to T3.

RE: "The Bad+Ugly"

The lines were really hardly ever used. I counted twice they used "I'll be back" or "We'll be back". I counted once with "Come with me if you want to live", and that was Reese. I kinda view it as something that may/may not end up being a private joke among the characters what with all the time travel and the like

Reese and Star didn't feature THAT heavily, in my opinion. Yeah, Reese was important. But we all know why that is. Star was just someone he found surviving in the wastes of LA.

My personal opinion?

I thought the movie was great. It explains how Connor solidifies his position as the Resistance's top dog, how humanity survives the first decade after Judgment Day, and what happens to make the T-800s as important to the storylines as they are.

In fact I almost didn't go to see it until, on a whim, I though I would take a chance one night when I had nothing better to do. Needless to say I was angry at myself and at the critics for almost making me miss it. Since then I've never trusted critics.

I seem to remember the critical reviews of V for Vendetta incorrectly. Rotten Tomatoes scores it overall at 73%.

Meanwhile, just looking at final critics scores is basically a waste of time. Just skimming a review to find the words 'it is good' or 'it is bad' is also a waste of time. Good reviews will tell you what a film is actually about, its genre, setting themes and all the rest. From there you should be able to decide for yourself (deciding maybe that while a film is getting lukewarm reviews you're a sucker for apocalyptic battles against robots... or maybe not). Seriously people, you don't have to find reviewers you always a agree with, just reviewers who consistently tell you the things you need to know to decide whether it's the kind of movie you like.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

The scene with the T-800 was too short. Perhaps in the next one they'll capture one and reprogram it.

I felt the T800 scene was just right.
It was supposed to be the big, new menacing weapon.
Something they'd never encountered, but was whispered about from John Connor's tales about the Skynet legacy.

Saw it today. During the 1st 2/3 of the movie I was thinking it was the best one yet with all the non stop action scenes. When they finally penetrate (penetrate... Hee) skynet the storyline kind of bogged and the end was okay but not as good as I was hoping for. I would have to say it's a good terminator movie and if you like the series it's worth seeing but not the best. Overall enjoyable.

I thought it was a really cool movie. The thing that I thought while watching the movie was that it could really stand alone without the other 3. The fact that it is a sequel is just topping.

Definately worth watching.

I give it a B+

Don't forget the toothpaste and teeth whitener that everyone seems to have....

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......
