I can rely on Rottentomatoes to be a great source of critics/users reviews. Unfortunately Termator: Salvation is looking to lean towards the rotten side. After being disappointed with X-Men Origins: Wolverine I was hoping that TS would be a homerun. Regardless of ratings I will see the movie, but I wanted to go ahead and get the movie discussion going.

Under the Himalaiyan mountains

I still need to see the new Star Trek...
But the Terminator movie looks good from the trailer I think.

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

Terminator looks pretty good to me. . . plus I'm very sure there will be a Arnie cameo. . . and it is set well before they made T-800s to begin with

There is indeed an Arnie Cameo in there somewhere. BBC News reported on it a couple of weeks back. Seems they used the same de-aging technique that was used on Picard and Gandalf in X-Men Last Stand when they first met Jean Grey.

As for Totten Tomatoes, I recognise none of the reviewers on that panel. I am reminded somewhat of the reviews Hulk and Iron Man got (both of which I thoroughly enjoyed) where the self appointed experts lambasted them for not being Citizen Kane, or other highly notable films. Of course they aren't. They are fun. They involve muscle men, guns, violence, a bit of sweary, and some more violence. Ticks my boxes.

Stuff interweb reviewers. In fact, just stuff reviewers in general.

London.

Whilst the recent spate of 'revamped' titles seem to have found favour with most fans; from the moment I saw the trailer I thought this would be poor. Too much shouting from the main character is a bad sign.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

I seem to remember V for Vendetta getting almost universally panned by critics.

In fact I almost didn't go to see it until, on a whim, I though I would take a chance one night when I had nothing better to do. Needless to say I was angry at myself and at the critics for almost making me miss it. Since then I've never trusted critics.

I agree that critics often hate things I like.

I would go watch it and the new video game looks uber cool.

Far as I'm concerned, the Terminator series has dropped with each movie since the first. The second was okay. The third was a stinker. This one - I don't have a desire to see. Heck, I still haven't gone to see Wolverine.

So its Metal Gear on the big screen then?

Look at it this way.

The director of charlie's Angels teams up with...

Both the writers from CATWOMAN!

this movie can only be better than the crap i have in my mind....

I liked T3.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

The horror! The horror! Mind you, the Director (at least on imdb.com) is listed as McG. That's right, he's so cool, he doesn't need a full name. I think this thing sinks faster than a lead bowling ball.

OK, that seals it. I am not seeing this movie. Ever.

The personal slap for me is the use of rapper-actors. There are lots of talented black actors who struggle to get roles when some main stream produced by old men crappy rapper will get the role. It doesn't matter if they can't act a lick and drag the whole movie down....UGH.

Thanks McG

They got a body double and edited his face onto the guy, since Arnie is y'know...busy governating the hell out California.

OK, I didn't realize that. He gets mad props for that. But it still doesn't take away the stain of Charlie's Angels.

SPOILERS DO NOT READ IF YOU DON"T WANT TO BE SPOILED>>>>>SPOILERS!!!!!

Spoiler:
How many bad cliche's can be Jammed in one movie? A crap load! Downed fighter pilot who turns out to be a blonde bombshell, complete with tight leather pants and a bostiar chest peice (take that women's movement.) A evil doctor form the present who turns a convict into a cyber-man and gloats about it in videos made to be watched after his death. A chick who spends one day with said cyborg-man and instantly turns her back on the resistance for him when he in all rights should have ben executed (take that women's movement again!). There is a robot wearing a turban. I called him the turban-nator. My wife said "so thats what a cyber terrorist loocks like." Most of the movie takes place in the barren West American desert, like every other post-Apoc movie. The commander has a name so generic he might as well had been named "Highranking McLeader-man" The story isn't about Conner at all but about Cyborg-man and his quest to find out what side he is on and that leads him into the heart of skynet (Matrix anybody?) Did you like The original Aliens movie? How about the First Terminator? Well forget the strong women in that movie and make way for Leather Butts and Mental retardation. In fact take Mad Max, Aliens, Transformers,The Matrix and Apocolyse now give it some good Bale grunts and there you have T4. Ohhhh....one more Cliche' Skynet gives this long monologe about how it's plan is all going to come to fruition. Let that sink in....yeah.

And it isn't about that either sadly. It's a good see full of ok CGI big explosions and one really nifty robot thing. Just go into it knowing it's not the uber blockbuster of this year. It's completely outdone by star trek and wolverine IMHO. I was one of the few that loved T3. I really wanted to love this one too. I wish I could tell you most of the critics are wrong and this movie ranks with the first or second one. But I can't in all honesty. It's an ok summer flick at best, sorry.

Also, MDG isn't posting enough, which makes me sad.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I just got home from Terminator, and I liked it. I didn't love it, but it was better than the doomsayers have shouted so loudly. I just wish the director would buy a vowel.

Is it better than T2 or T3? Does Christian Bale destroy one of the Terminators with a pissy tirade? Enquiring minds want to know?
