The Eye of Terror

And, of course, you play as an ultramarine.

Typical.

Of the races included in the footage, the primary conflict involved a handful of Space Marines against seemingly overwhelming swarms of Orks. Near the end we also spotted a Carnifex, a towering agent of devastation and member of the Tyranid race. Relic would not say anything further about to what degree Tyranids will be in the game, so no word yet on exactly what's going on or what other races, if any, might be included. If you don't know what Tyranids are, they're a somewhat insect-like alien race that overwhelm and decimate whatever they happen upon. To get a better idea of what they're like, check out this feature for Dawn of War II, Relic's recently released PC-only real-time strategy game.

Carnifex? I didn't see a carnifex.

Oh yeah... and a unit of 30 boyz with a nob would take out a Space Marine.

not an ULTRAMARINE ASSAULT UNIT WITH A THUNDER HAMMER.

Probably like a human.

They should have toned down the shoulder pads on the armor, you have to concede how ridiculously big that stuff is. If the shoulder pads were smaller the movements would probably look a little more natural. It's just a habit GW has of bulking stuff out. When in reality things might be a little slimmer.

You fight 7-foot enemies, I suppose.

Remember that these are movie marines, not game marines.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

Just a little fanboyism.

PS3 exclusives range from: Adventure, Platformer, Racing, Shooter, and Sports games.

Xbox exclusives range from Marcus Phoenix, Master Chief, or guy that looks like master chief's cousin.

Oh, and I can play most "exclusives" on a PC version.
Don't get me started on DLC, PS3 has exclusive DLC for red alert 3, bioshock(wasn't that a 360 exclusive?) and is soon getting the DLC for fallout 3.

A realistic view, why would I pay $50 for online pay when I already pay for internet service and why doesn't 360 make controllers that, I don't know, come with a rechargable battery? In the long run, the 360 costs you more.

Fanboy mode off:

I don't know about this space marine game though, I was expecting something more epic in terms of sizeof both warring factions. I mean its like 4 or 5 space marines against an entire horde. I want a more sizeable space marine force to make it seem less cheesey.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

Sorry Iorek.

In that case, I'll agree with what halonachos said; I think a shooter based on Battlefront would work great in a 40k setting. The main problem would be trying to balance out the individually powerful factions (i.e. Space Marines) against the individually weaker factions (such as Imperial Guard). The factions in the middle can swing to meet up with either side.

Also, I'd rather see a game about the Ultramarines than another one with Blood Ravens. I'd like to see a game with another chapter even more though. Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, Black Templars; there are tons of good chapters out there, it's frustrating that you never see anything besides Ultramarines. At least Chaos Marines have more variety.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. In your base, ignoring your logic.

In a battlefront style game it can be imperium vs chaos vs xeno vs chaosy xeno.

So if you play imperium you start with a guardseman and when you earn enough points you get space marines and when you have the maximum points you become the emperor. The emperor unit is cheese though and is limited to one per game.

Imperium v Orks v Eldar v Chaos maybe?

That could work.

I will say two things about this game.
First is, I'm tired of Ultramarine vs Orks. It's always them.
But when they made a game with a Tau, it didn't get much attention. So I guess they're doing what they must to make the game sell. >.>

Second is, it does look graphically great. but that was to be expected. What worries me is the gameplay.
Gears of War looked nice but the gameplay was horrible. Let's hope they don't rely on the SM alone to make the sale and put some real work in the game.
