These look really good-the checks on the choppas threw me a bit, but after a second look i really like them.
I do have one piece of advice, though-unless you're really completely committed to an everybody forward, all hand to hand army, I'd really think about assembling the boys from the boxed set with shootas. Shoota boys are a lot more effective than I thought they were until I tried them out a few times.

Haha yeah. They take a bit of time... Good to know they're effecting people how I want them to
As for the shootas? I understand. Ordering two packs of Boyz in a week or so. nearly all of the boyz that are unprimed in the last few pics are all shootas. The ones that are painted came in the 'assault on black reach' set and cannot be converted into shootas... well, they can, but it'll take some resources to do so
Thanks for the advice!
Anyone have an oppinion on masses of gretchin? I kinda wanna start my Waagh with a wall of green litle squeaking things

Dont buy chaos black spray ! For the red's and green's im gonna say buy a white one , then just paint black where there is supposed to be black . Much easier , and the red's wont show through as much .

you have a couple options honestly with that. Personally I have found I prefer to use paint on primer as it stands due to the lack of "cat hair" you get froma spray can. for those of you who don't know what "cat hair" is it is not a litteral term. It more implies those little hair like fibers floating around and when you prime the paint picks it up and sticks it to the model. Chaos black in and of itself does not really count as a primer as it lack certain addatives that primer contains to make it stick long term. Here are a couple of ways though to help you on all this.
1.) Wash your models and let dry before painting anything. Plastics especially come out of the molds with lots of residue and when you paint over this it can flake off and screw up your paint job.
2.) If you dont like to paint on use an airgun with compressor or if that is the only thing youwould use it for spend the money and get the GW one. It will apply the primer much smoother then a spray can.
3.) When priming to many people do not hold the can or so 4-6inches away 1in=2.45cm for you metric folks. Also they hold down the nozzel as they spray instead of doing short bursts if you will.
Personally Testors has a great black that is indicative of a primer as well as a paint. Though preferably I would never use it as a paint as it is a little too glossy for me. Hope this helps if not it's a slow day at the office so this killed some time for me

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

@gretar
Y'know. Thats true. But I just use black as my basecoat since there is a lot of black on my models to begin with. and it helps with getting the darker green skintone I aim for. It seems to speed up the process for me too (Aside from basing the damn things) when I actually get painting.
However, I might try a different paintscheme for my next order of Orks, Still with the back and red checkers but maybe a bit more vibrant color for their clothing (The basics I have right now is Catachan green for the tunic and either Graveyard earth or Snakebite leather for the trousers)
Now I might go back to my original ideas using blues for the clothing.
@Empchild
I've never really had problem with the cat hair thing you've mentioned earlier. Though, I use a rustoleum grey primer for actually priming my units, the basecoat comes afterwards just for the coloration, thats what I had meant earlier.
I'm curious though, I have two beaver airbrushes sitting around, would they be able to work instead of the GW one? I'm trying to keep my spending on units and paint alone for the moment and I don't feel like spending much on another airbrush when I already have many available to me.
Thanks for the advice! Very appreciated.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in. |

Well, I got the package for pretty cheap. I accidently deleted the list, but its basically a battleforce, ghazghkull, a killa kan and a trukk for 100 bucks. All fresh too.
Hell, even a Codex too. Since I already have one myself i'll prolly sell my extra copy.
As for updates, i'm not too sure when i'll have more pictures or painted stuff to present to you guys. A freind of the family had died yesterday morning.
Edit : Anyone interested in trading a Skaven codex for and Ork40k one?

Had to move tables today.
No, not for my work, but for my army.
Just got in that package today. I'm happy.
A lot of the units are of 4th ed i'm thinking, even got the 4th edition codex which is cool, I like it a lot more than the current.
Heres my army. Got all of those bikes, warbuggies, the old trukk, around 18 boyz, Grotsnik, A killakan, a new warboss all for a hundred bucks, Nice deal I think.
