Is the drummer boy really trying to start a flamewar on a forum over a list?

Double Lash isn't THAT cheese.
It's only cheese if:
a) you're not mech'd and you get gakked
b) he/she does it wrong

And I still say alot of lists will "have their way" with this list. But that's because alot of the squads are easily torn to bits from heavy small arms fire, and the Landraider needs Daemonic Possession, not Extra Armor.

What unit in this list aside from a single Daemon Prince and the Oblits actually struggles against small arms fire (I didn't mention the Sorc on purpose because he hides in a unit of PMs). I already showed you the math for 150 Lasgun shots against Plague Marines (which results in les than 2 dead PMs). Just because there are 5 models in the unit does not mean it dies quickly at all, they're still T5 3+ save and FNP, and they're still in a rhino until you dig them out. They do not die quickly. I don't know what kind of shooting you consider small arms fire, but bolters and the like are very ineffective/inefficient against this army.

Oblits die quickly when FF'd, and they should be because they're that good. Oblits dying to small arms such as bolters is moot, I could take 9 of them and it wouldn't change that. Volume of fire eventually kills anything. Resilience is measured by the amount of fire needed to kill something. Plague Marines and Oblits are fine by those standards. The Prince is slowed and more or less is a distraction and to reliably kill it the opposing player will need to dedicate a fair amount of this dreadful small arms fire you keep mentioning. This means multiple units shooting at it, lots of them. The special/heavy weapons in those units are what does the real damage.

Land Raider could benefit from Possession I agree, I've been too lazy to switch a meltabomb from the Chosen to upgrade.

This list is just as good against things Lash is good against, and then it includes other ideas to try and combat the trend towards mechanized armies (Land Raider, Chosen, 3 small units of PMs to get more meltas as opposed to 2 larger units, sorceror instead of second Prince, etc).

Well, I'd drop the Landraider. One lucky shot and you have to rethink about the tactics. I've seen this happening early in the game.
Rhinos are quite resilient these days. Therefore, I'd replace the Landraider and Berzerkes with a NM squad incl. AC with doom siren, and 2 further Obliterators.
At the 1750 point level, I never use Sorcerers. I hide my DPs partially behind the Rhinos so that they eventually get a cover save.
