I'm suggesting nothing... I'm flat out stating it. The Liberals want to control how the American populace thinks, and "hate crimes" are the perfect example of this. It's not bad enough that someone murders someone... it's worse if they murder them because they are gay or minority or whatever prejudice happens to play. Thinking badly about someone makes murdering them worse than if you murder them because you are a bloodthirsty gang-banger.
I actually agree with you, to an extent. There are certainly left-wingers out there looking to censor speech they see as "hateful", regardless of the way the speech is presented.

However, I would say Obama's mindless support isn't much different from the mindless support Bush received during his presidency. Obama's a politician, when you get down to it. He acts like any politician does.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Do you even bother to check sources or stats before you open your trap, Gwar? According to Opensecrets.org Fox News employees contributed 3 times the amount to Obama as they did McCain.

Don't take my word for it.. search yourself. Go to http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/search_donor.php and look up the candidates... put in "Fox" in the employers box.

Weak sauce, Gwar. You get no exclamation point from me.

Sources abound. Search for yourself here: http://fundrace.huffingtonpost.com/

They all show the same thing... donations from those claiming ABC, CBS or NBC as employers overwhelmingly slant left.

So you're trying to claim that because a very popular politician (who managed to generate an incredible level of contributions directly into his campaign) received more funding from the media than his opponent (who generated far less contributions overall) the media must favour the left. Which requires ignoring the idea that that politician was actually more popular across the general population, and managed to generate considerably more enthusiasm, resulting in considerably more money for his campaign. Which ignores the idea that a journalist can personally support one campaign while still giving balanced coverage of political events.

And that we should use that metric of journalistic integrity as opposed to, oh say, actual coverage of political events. That we should look at the absolute failure to question the Bush administration in the lead up to Iraq, and ignore that entirely in favour of bleating about how left wing the media is because they (along with everyone else) gave more money to Obama than they gave to McCain.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

Dude, all politicians want to control how the populace thinks. Its called framing the debate, and its a central tenet of any enterprise based on influence.

Are you seriously so blind as be unaware of the presence of similar rhetoric on the right? You didn't see 'redistributive taxation' equated to socialism, which was itself bedeviled into Communism? Or the direct comparisons of Obama to Hitler?

You're wrong.

Sorry, I had to say it. Hyperbole usually invites that sort of treatment.

The notion of unbiased media is an absolute myth. It always has been. People that believe journalism is about the presentation of bare fact don't actually know what journalism is.

Still, its certainly possible for a person to contribute to one political party while remaining fair in his/her journalistic duties.

Bush. Iraq War. Yeah.

A cry of outrage would be biased take on events.

This would also be a biased take on events.

Same.

Again, a biased take on events. It really doesn't seem like you want the media to be unbiased at all. Rather it appears that you want the media to share your bias.

No, there isn't any mind control. There are just people who are not nominally inquisitive.

err.. what ?

Guess the "biased" media didn't cover this then ?

"The United States and the international community have been appalled and outraged by the threats, the beatings and imprisonments of the last few days," Obama said. "I strongly condemn these unjust actions, and I join with the American people in mourning each and every innocent life that is lost."

one of several hundred links if you look.

The Liberals want to control how the American populace thinks

Where as what ? The Republicans don't want people to think at all ?

But if you think murdering unborn children is bad, then you are less than worthless because you are opposing abortion, the sacred sacrament of the Left. In fact, if you even question this you are no better than Eric Rudolph or Adolf Hitler for that matter.

No, you're getting confused with the right wingers. They're the ones who compare people to Nazis and then murder them. Silly.

Unless the media111 has been covering up the multitude of murders of anti abortionists by...no.

Tell me I'm wrong. I dare you. Tell me Liberals everywhere support MY right to think and say whatever I want and tolerate my God given freedom of thought and speech.

I'll join that bandwagon : you're wrong.
Don't believe in God so I don't agree those rights are "god given"............ are people stopping you from saying things then ? Really ? What are you doing on here ? I'm sure the ACLU will help you otherwise in your "fight".

Where are the cries of outrage over the Trillions of dollars in spending?

You seriously saying there's been universal exceptence of the plans ? No "Boston Tea party" type events held and covered ( even paid for!) by THE MEDIA.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
