So? I never said it was any better in terms of mechanical design. It just looks better.

Anyway, want good looking mecha design form the mid 80's?

But that's Shirow, so it probably shouldn't count...

Good news for Btech fans but not so good for me as I´m already collecting the unseen using the model kits available in Japan

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see minis for the Unseen (especially the Shadow Hawk and the Wolverine). At least we're getting the Defiance in a few months.

I'm not all that fussed about new models. About half of the recent BTech miniatures have been badly scaled monsters that dwarf everything and are very difficult to put together.

I wish the were smaller and less complex.

The good thing with them is that they're already sculpted. All they really have to do is rerelease them.

He has always been very influenced by organic forms like insects.

Which kits? I used to have a load of 1/72 scale kits of Macross and Dougram mechs.

I'm visiting Japan at early August so would be a good time to pick up some stuff as long as I can hide it from the wife.

No they aren't. Part of the original suit agreement was the destroying of the molds for the Unseen.

You mean you are waiting for a mini that has been out of more than 12 years?

They may not have the molds, but I'm sure that they have a few of the minis laying around that they can make molds from. The point is that they don't have to start from scratch.

They should start from scratch though. Those old minis really lacked good detail, and what they had was very shallow and could easily be eliminated when you had to clean up the mini itself.

I am all for new sculpts. Plus, then we get more poseability and fewer one piece molds. I'd love to have an old Griffin or Phoenix hawk that doesn't have a gun stuck to it's leg.

If IWM put effort into resculpting some of the B5 minis that needed it for that short-lived product line, they can and should redo classic mech designs.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Harmony Gold does not own Macross License - Japanese Courts rule

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our good friend Jason Gong has informed us of an ongoing legal litigation between Harmony Gold & Tatsunoko and Big West over the Macross License. Harmony Gold, which has always claimed exclusive ownership of the Macross License, has blocked the North American importation and release of Macross based merchandise in the past and licensed the Macross Anime to AnimEigo for DVD release.

However a recent Japanese ruling states that Tatsunoko, the Japanese company that originally sold the Macross license to Harmony Gold, did not own the Macross license in the first place and was never in any position to sell that license to Harmony Gold. According to the ruling Big West, the original creators of Macross, own the international rights. Based on this ruling Big West has obtained an injuction barring Harmony Gold from selling or licensing further Macross merchandise.

The Robotech "Macross Saga", which is based on Macross, is in no way affected by these ongoing legal matters.

Suck on that HG.

Hmmm, interesting. Anyway, they're wasting no time as Camo Specs has already posted several of the previously unseen 'mechs on their website. Here's hoping I can finally get my hands on a proper Shadow Hawk miniature.

I'm slightly ambivalent about a remastered reissue of the original Unseens since I have all of them anyway, multiple copies. That said, if they came out I would buy them if they were nice mouldings.

I would like to see some models of the Japanese reworked Unseens.
