Thanks for all of the comments. I'm getting my dex today! I like nightbringer, more my style, higher strength. I played another game and H. Destroyers rocked the game blew up every tank and the commander, I liked it! Wraith and D. Lord massacred everything that came up to him. I think it went very well, i won with 5 kill points and opponent had 2. I used the monolith more aggressively which IMHO was my only problem the first time around. I charged his lines and wiped the floor wth him.

Glad you had a good game.

What type of list were you up against?

I still think you should strip down the warrior squads to two.

edit: Bid D is more tactically flexible than The Nightbringer, but it's your call

10 man warrior squads are ill advised, experienced players facing necrons do nothing but go for phase out. With only 10 warriors per squad it is not hard to dakka down an entire squad in one round of shooting denying wbb entirely. I would drop the flayed ones and move to 3 15 man warrior squads.

Also Immortals can be a better buy than destroyers if combined with a lord with a veil, just deep strike them wherever you need them open up with Assault2 gauss hell and repeat next turn. Hell the veil can even get you out of an assault something destroyers cannot do.

Warriors are held in reserve. Very hard to kill something not on the table. 2 squads of 10 is more than enough, that's how many I use in 2k and I haven't been phased out in 5th yet.

How do you plan to keep them off the table? They come in eventually, and with all the warriors in reserve it means your destroyers are taking the full brunt of enemy firepower yeah they are tough but with Obliterators, vendettas and melta spam in today's meta how long do you really think they will last unsupported?

I'm not going to argue the merits of this style list with you.

It works, very well, better than many other 'cron strategys.

If you can't visualize the synergy this type of lists creats than I can't help you.

Ok so lets play it your way he holds his warriors in reserve and places on the table (per his original list)

1 lord
1 destroyer lord
5 destroyers
4 flayed ones
3 wraiths
2 heavy destroyers and a monolith
5 scarabs

and that is going to hold off an entire 2k list while the warriors hide out in reserve?

I think not

Please read the whole thread before attacking my suggestions. I've been trying to get him to go a TOTALLY different direction with his unit selections. He has been slowly optimizing since this thread started. I'm just continuing to suggest a total re-work of his list, since he is still proxying his models.

Edit: I probably should have been more thorough in my explanation of dropping the warriors above but I'm at work, and my time is....limited.

edit2: So sometimes my posts come out fractured....

I do like the tactic SsevenN, i must try it sometime and see how it works out...

Just remember it's a delicate scalpal type of list, not a blunt object like most other cron lists. You have to use range, speed and terrain to your advantage.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

just my 2c I think Warriors are only so good without support. After two or three squads you are much better off offense-wise with Immortals or other.

Immortals and destroyers are the bread and butter for necrons.

Until you get more of these models, you should do ok.

Warriors are the sux.

I always went super shooty and monolith-less, with one lord with orb/veil to hang back with the warriors.

I guess Immortals are nice i could so easily drop a squad of warriors and throw in WAY more destroyers it just makes me spend my money differently, Should i drop scarabs for another 5 man or just drop everything in fast attack and take 3 5 man destroyers sqauds?

new list

3x15 warrior squads 270 each
2 monoliths 235 each
