I'd like to see how you went about your conversions, as I've been building, tearing apart, and rebuilding a single warlock on a jetbike the past couple weeks. I can't imagine haven't to do 20 of them, plut 2 farseers on bikes as well!

I looked up the 2nd round 'Ard Boyz locations in my general area. Not pretty. I could have traveled no further than 50 miles to reach 4 different locations that held preliminary round.

Now I have to travel 4 hours 40 minutes to go to Anoka, Minnesota OR go 5 hours 8 minutes to get to Springfield, Illinois.

Hell, it's further for me to go to 2nd round than Chicago for final, lol

I traveled 2 hours for the prelims. It looks like I'm traveling 3 1/2 for the semis.

hey, don't come to anoka...there's...stuff there...

But seriously, the field needs to be small. I have no chance if everyone massacres every round. Has anyone else seen this as an issue?

If 32 players enter, then everyone gets massacres every round, then 2 players at the top will never play each other. And because my army sucks at mission bonus points, I'll be forced into second if this happens. :(

While it would hurt people who had to travel for the matches, the only viable alternative I can see to the current structure is to make the tournament include more than 3 stages, with a higher inclusion rate (i.e. 9 people from prelims move to quarters, 6 from quarters move to semis, 3 from semis move to finals). Would give you that many more chances to prove yourself without having to rely on the bonus points. 9 games doesn't really seem to be enough to declare a champion in a tournament with this many participants.

NASTY!

My friend ran with eldar as well, and said the exact same thing that you just did. Old school (no max range) leadership 10 hoods are painful. He'll be switching over to an IG army most likely. Less vulnerable to the "didn't go first and the guy has a hood" dilemma. Unlike 1750 where you can handle a turn or two of un-fortune. 2500 points worth of shooting can just pounce on you in that one or two turns and dismantle that unit.

As of now its sits that I got 2nd with IG/DH

The top player for our store was an ork army,

IG on the combine of the 50 really paid off for me. Its just that you can gain so much from this one single unit taking orders from Creed. First rank, Bring it down, For the Honour of Cad, GK termies hitting at Int 5/6 with Str 7 Power weapons was the bane for my opp. Oh ya, did I mention out flanking GK really put the smack down on one list. The cammon squad with the advisor really paid off as well. Though the over all effect of the master of the ord shall be removed as he is next to little or no effect for 30 points. The other two guys paid for themselves a few times over.

A heavy flanking army can be played against with the master of the fleet. Over load your strong side while letting some of it fall on your weak side.
