Those ratings are obviously ridiculous. Notice that no one has had the guts to talk gak about your painting in this thread. Looks like this thread is full of people with good taste.

Don't forget Luna - There're gallery trolls out there that'll purposely bring everyone's ratings down. These folks go around slapping a 1 or 2 on everything that pops up. Thus, gallery votes are hardly an honest measurement of a painter's abilities. Your Kanz are definately worth more than a 4 or 5... And I just made that sound really, really bad

Luna, I wanted to let you know that I used your bases as inspiration for my own shoreline/beach basing on my exodite dragon knights and it turned out very well. I did the water over 3/4 to 1/2 of the base and sand over the rest and it looks pretty nice.

The Gallery is a cesspool of gutless e-losers who enjoy being tools because they can't be held accountable.

Ratings on pics should be logged by forum account with a viewable history of votes.

Being able to vote anonymously and tank stuff is a huge flaw in the design. Why does the Dakka gallery need a rating system at all really? It is totally useless and pointless to be honest...

The mold lines distract from a very nice paint job Luna.

Ahh i particularly hoped for an accurate feed back for the main purpose of deciding whether i should bother painting my stuff .
( i dont want to spend the effort if unpainted stuff sells for more :< )

Seriously some of the best Kans I've ever laid eyes on. I'm always really skeptical about environmental bases if one plays (because it just seems strange to have water covered bases if you're playing in some kind of normal terrain), but I don't care in this instance. They look too outsanding for me to care about it, and the water effect is outstanding. I'm really contemplating trying my hand at it now, but I've got essentially not skill at making models so it'll have to wait.

Yes, they're Silver Spears - complete squad of five with exarch. His weapon arm is magnetized for power sword (a bit useless, that), a laser lance and a star lance (modelled from the DA Power Weapon and a bit of sprue) but to keep things simple, I just used the sword for pics. They haven't been glued in the saddles and I'm planning on making a "jetlock" squad riding these dinos as well. Pics on those to follow, but feel free to check out my blog. I just posted these and some of the Striking Scorpion Wraithlord there.

LOL, it was an intentional "mistake": I spread the spackle on the base before I glued the dinos on so the little bases their feet are on stick up over the water, too. I did these on very short notice for a convention, so I fudged them a bit. I didn't want it to look like they were walking over the water, so I tried to get them right on the water line. All but the exarch are off to one side and his mount kinda lists because of the angle of the spackle...
