Movies of games should stick to the canon at least vaguely. World of Warcraft is not set in a particular part of the storyline, just sometime after Warcraft III, which was far better and has less douchebags playing online.

Not trying to defend the movie or anything, because it will be terrible. If Sam Raimi is still putting out crap like the Spiderman movies, then this is going to go downhill. Quick.

Note: I like Blizzard, and find their stuff entertaining and fun, but not WoW. I might as well be playing in 'Generica: a world of Fantasy and Magic' and have my Orc dance there, than in whatever the heck the world in WarCraft is called.
I find their StarCraft, and Diablo brands to have a far more compelling backstory.
I will also not hold my nose up at people who see the movie. I'd just sooner watch a fantasy movie that took part in an interesting world.

I'm actually down with their whole "Feth deadlines" attitude. Theres nothing i hate more than a game realeased incomplete or crappy because some executive was like "I WANNT MAH MONEH NOW HURRRR". Thats the difference between blizz and other companies; Blizz only releases GOOD games.
It could also be seen as laziness perhaps? Just a thought really...
