If I'm ever in Old Blighty I'll have to check this out. (and the Imperial War Museum... but I'll have to actually get there first.)

Thank you VERY much for posting the pictures. I love that place. It brought back very good memories. I completely enjoyed my time at Warhammer World the two times I went. The staff working there were above the board friendly and helpful.
I thought I would post some additional information.
If you are going, here are a few tips:
1) Nottingham closes up early. The last time, I was there on a Monday and stopped at the downtown shopping mall after visiting GW. It was 5:30 p.m. They were closing the stores. I asked a woman why they were closing at 5:30 and she gave me the ol' skunk eye and said "What exactly would you be needing to buy after 5:30, anyways?" LOL! Too funny, but true. Many of the restaurants seem to do the same.
2) Warhammer World is really 4 sections: Miniature Museum, Store, Gaming area and Bugmans.
3) At the store you can buy just about anything, even things not strictly in the books, if they still have a bit of stock available. Forgeworld stuff, with rare exception, will be shipped to you later. Also, anything they have to pull from the back room takes about an hour to package up. A good time for you to visit...
4) Miniature Museum. This is just amazing. I truly enjoyed seeing how the painting styles have changed over the years. If you get a chance, you'll see one of the John Blanche displays, which are truly amazing for detail. You will also see a real history of the games. Excellent brain fodder and a treat. Afterwords, you will still have time to look at the
5) Game Room. Wow. Table after Table. Realize, land in the UK is worth quite a bit more per square foot than in the States or Canada, and you should be doubly impressed. The tables are a real treat to look at as they are generally master-level designed. When I was there, the Ork spaceship was on display which was amazingly cool to see. They also have a "sit and build and paint" sort of class area set up. Pay a few quid (hee hee. Quid.) and you can make some terrain, a tank, etc. When you are done, you are probably thirsty and hungry so stop into
7) Bugmans. This is THE reason to go here. Its a freaking dwarvish tavern. Yes, yes, there are some, well a lot, of modern bits, but its a dwarvish tavern. If you are old enough, try the Bugmans. Excellent for an ale! You can buy exclusive only here in the entire world stuff, like the Shirt, Sweatshirt, Cap, etc. and of course, the Bugman miniature. Now a board game is out as well, I guess. The food is very good for bar food. You will see the GW staff walk in and out chatting about things and, if lucky, will see them pay for a drink with... a 40K Imperial Credit. Too cool. I lost my nerve or I would have asked to buy one off of them. Sigh.

Well, I hope this inspires some of you to relook at those cool pics posted above. If you get the chance, I felt it was worth the trip.

Alas, no. Although there were some of the original Citadel miniatures from when they made more general 'warrior', 'wizard' and so on style models. There was also some of their Doctor Who range from way back.

Wow, really? It's like they don't want any evidence of Squats at all, trying to deny their existence in the first place. :(

Yeah, especially the old skelies attacking the dwarf keep in the toadstool forest... There is a jabberwocky in the water under the bridge attacking one of the skelies. So much detail on that diorama you can stare at it for hours and keep seeing more in it.

Im currently in London and went to see the War Museum yesterday. Its pretty good. I got a funny look from the staff though when I got all exited about the airfix models. We were going to go to Warhammer World but my family decided that they didn't want to go. Shame looks really good.

Nice selection of pictures. Makes me want to go again. When I went 10 years ago the only stuff there was the huge statue outside, a boring ultramarine army, the seige of the emperors palace (awesome), a huge battle between the imperial guard and orks, a dark room full of some 40k props and a display case full of space marines from the rogue trader era. The shop was smaller than a public toilet cubical and everything was out of stock. A major disappointment :(

But now, well, they've only gone and pulled the bloody boat out and made it good. Finally!

Isnt it also true that every so often the fortress of arrogance style light up baneblade comes along?

Most epic win: Clanrat slaves killed high elf prince on griffon in one turn.
Most epic fail: Vermin lord only killed 8 warriors of chaos with irresistible dreaded thirteenth and was subsequently sucked into the warp via mishap.

Yeah, custom scribes by the looks of it. Just a disc of tzeench, some cityscape stuff and scrolls. Don't get your hopes up on ever getting models for all the daemon characters.

If GW did the scribes, they would be 10x as cool as those. They'd be all like WOOOOOSH! BAM! YEAH!

Adding to the choir, my neck hurts, you take funny angled pictures just to make everyone angry -.-

Damn, that place looks Awesome, I'll have to get there some day.

Do they have any of the old Marauder Miniatures, or is it all Citadel stuff, and if so, would that explain the Squat omission?

Made in gb
Battlefortress Driver with Krusha Wheel

I think it was all citadel stuff, but I could be mistaken. There was certainly stuff there that was pre-squat era, but no squats. There was only one case in there with the older models, so not enough room to show everything. I'm sure it's not the grand uber-conspiracy some people believe!
