I like the fact that the LOTR soundtrack came on on my music player when I read that. (considering it was set to random)

I've frequently played in tournaments I was judging, including the first round of this years Ard Boyz. I only do it when there are an odd number of people playing so that I don't have to screw with bys in the normal events. I judged Ard Boyz because the TO had to go out of town for family reasons a couple days befor the event. I've only had one guy even suggest I was cheating, and frankly that's just a handy bonus given the source. He was DQed for blatent cheating in Ard Boyz. I lost Ard Boyz because I wasn't able to finish my last game due to dealing with said cheater. One more turn would have given me a draw and third place overall.

In the absense of even numbers, an organizer or ringer should play.
First round pairings should be entirely random. After that, ringer should play last place, period.
A tourney judge should never be in the running for a "place". You can't be accused of gaming the system if it is clear before hand what the conditions of the ringer are.

I've seen TO's play for the by reasons noted, but I've NEVER seen where those games actually counted, where the TO was officially part of the list of players. Sorry but TO's should never be able to have their scores counted for purposes of winning anything.

Let's hope the Alabama store guy will be back to answer the questions, because I'm curious as well. All of it sure smells funny!
These 'Ard boyz drama stories remind me of the days when I still played basketball and sometimes had to officiate the women's games afterwards. If you ever want to see a bunch of mean hair-pulling and elbow-throwing cheaters it's out of shape middle aged women who are trying to beat eachother at a sports which none of them are actually good at.

1. Were people allowed to play that did not have a cert from the 1st round?
2. Did a judge play in the tournament?
3. Was the second or third place player playing someone who had not won a game in the final round?
The failure of what's-his-name to answer these question is, in itself, a kind of answer....
Dude, it's only been 1 whole hour since those questions were asked....
Weren't the above issues raised in the OP?

I apologize for not responding sooner, some of us have to work during the day...
First of all, I am the winner, and had no hand in the judging or matchups or anything. Yes I rode with the gentleman that ended up judging the Tourney, but I have three kids, one car, no money, and was offered a ride the hour and a half away, with 4 of us in the car.
I really don't know what issue to try and resolve, since I held myself away from the "discussion" until CKO himself came up to me to ask my opinion. Anything that transpired before that I have limited knowledge aside from what I was told with everyone standing there, and the fact that at the end of the game, I heard CKO say, and I quote...
"I didn't know that I had to be 3 inches away from the objective to contest, I thought I had to be 3 inches from the unit holding it."
As an occasional TO myself, that would have been enough for me to end the discussion, as most judges would state to that.
"Not My Problem."
All of the problems since were only there because the judges were NICE enough to give him the benefit of the doubt, and try everything they could with the wonky Valkyrie rules to help CKO out. The Valk was taken of the base in order to get it CLOSER to the objective, and to make sure beyond a shadow of a doubt the that Valk was not over an enemy model, which CKO kept trying to pull, since it was an inch away.
When one ruling didn't go his way, he went to another, and then another, and then another, he went so far as to call for a re-measuring of the center of the table, which didn't work as planned for him since it put the objective another quarter to half inch away from the Valk.
Honestly I really didn't want to get pulled into this again, but since my silence seemed to be taken as guilt(again, work) I have to respond to show that CKO is just upset that he lost.
The top three players were all certificate holders of a Regional round.
Yes non-certificate holders played, but that was what the TO was told had to happen if cert. holders didn't show to make enough people....the alternates were all present at a regional, and were placed 4th, 5th and 7th in said regional.
Honestly, none if this really has anything to do with me or my games, and even if CKO had controlled the central objective, then he was still on the wrong end of a Minor Victory, and his 48 points from the first two rounds, plus the seven he would have recieved(had this been the case) give him 55.
I still had 56.
Any other questions you want to ask, I will answer as I can, but please, don't assume anything based on CKO's posts, his arguments change with the telling, and different forums have different "reasons" he lost. IF he hadn't made this ridiculously public, and slanderize me in the process, I wouldn't care one way or another, doesn't effect me either way.
Thanks.

How can the Valkyrie be closer to the objective when it is taken off it's base when the objective was on the second story of a building?
